MBWorld Fanatic!
Minds are broken
If a belt breaks the first thing one looks for is visible damage to wires, hoses, pulleys, and so on. the op is correct what made the belt break? Age? Too tight? Pulley or tensioner failure? The ECU sure didn't!![rolf](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/rofl.gif)
If you don't find anything questionable then you hook it up to the computer.
The Kleemann gent is right otherwise. Stick with them and the other company starting with R, so a little pointed star person whispered to me if you needtodo a tune.
Otherwise keep your belts and pulleys new.

Well I'm happy with my tune like many others are, and the car is fixed now and tuned again with no problems, the dealer is the one that kept saying its the ecu and even when I took the car to a different dealer same thing was said , the thing that the allternator wires sit in the back so there is no way that it was dameged by the belt pieces , it was damged. Because of the shortage that happend with the alternator from the belt, again that's what the dealer said and it has nothing to do with my tune , my belt was badly worn out and my car has 33k miles on it,
Thank you
