I really didn't want another Black car, but that's what was on the lot, so I took it. Didn't wanna wait to order one. I would've had gotten Steel Grey.

Full detail twice a year.. just after winter, and sometime in the fall just before winter.
Full detail (clay bar, medium cut polish, light cut polish, paint glaze, paint sealant, wax)
Wax car every 3 or so months
Wash car every week or 2 as time permits. The nice thing about the glaze, sealant and wax is it makes it very easy and quick to wash the car (about 30 minutes)

I do all of this myself. The full detail usually takes about 2 days to do (mostly because you need 24 hours between applications of paint sealant for 2 coats).

Also, for the previous poster who noted we have good quality paint.. well it depends on the colour.. I have the steel grey.. and it is horribly soft, chips easily, and scratches very easily...

California duster and spray detailed inside and out after each time I drive it. Show room clean!
Keep it garaged and covered. Not a daily driver and Never driven when it rains.
LoL Good to here I am not the only OCD member here.

This may sound weird, and while it is hard work detailing your car.. I find it relaxing and enjoying...

Wow. I would love to be the person who purchases your car when you plan to sell. Sounds like you take great care of the paint.

I was washing mine about 1-2 times every two weeks. But then I fractured a bone in my leg so standing up for long periods of time is difficult right now.

I've been paying to have it done. There's a guy that comes to my office, he does a great job, but it gets kind of expensive. I'm actually looking forward to doing it again when my leg feels better.

Oh, definitely.

I especially keep my interior clean. No dust at all. It gives me good piece of mind to drive a car with fresh and clean interior.

A guy I know who has many many cars pays a guy to come and wash all his cars once a week. Its the best way.

I used to wash my own car. I simply dont have the time or the patience anymore. The place I go to is a hand wash and they do an amazing job. It goes through the hand washer and then 4 people work on it for about 20 mins.

$75/month unlimited super inside and out.

I miss my Iridium. Even when it was dirty it looked clean. The black looks dirty the next day. The stock rims were also better at masking dirt. The forgestars show the dirt just as fast.

$75/month is a great deal. I should really look into finding a place that offers a package deal like that. I'm sure I've paid more than that some months when I'm paying to have it washed every week.

Yeah, I used to have a silver ML and it looked pretty clean for a couple weeks.

Btw, do you have any pictures up of your car with the forgestars?

I really do find it relaxing and relieve stress.

Especially the mirror finish after you are done for the day.

I once said no black car for me ever, but now i have 2 of them.

Ordered it today. Very curious to see how well it works. Thanks!

What kind of equipment do you guys use to clean your cars?

I stick with the Makita variable speed buffer with 3M polishing pads, compounds, and glazes mainly for paint correction.
For paint cleaning and protection I usually go with DodoJuice Lime Prime, P21S, KLASSE all-in-one and Chemical Guys waxes.

Spent 6 hours washing and waxing the car on Sunday.
Here is a pic.

Wow, I used to be that ****, lol! I bought my new car this past April or May (can't even remember), and I have not washed it yet. The car is not a DD.

I got caught in a short rain storm, but the car still looks clean. The wheels are dirty.

Car is blk/blk. Garaged.

Cheers,
B

Lol. I'm embarrassed to say what I clean my car with compared to what you use. I can say it's not ****, so at least I have Zephyr beat.

Your car looks great in those pics!

Are you serious? You didn't washed your black car since April or May... and it's clean after driving in the rain? You must have a dust free garage.

Well, you got to tell me your secret... my car gets dirty 2 minutes after a wash just driving around the block, let alone driving in the rain.
