Got hit yesterday
On the way home from work a Chevy Cobalt was hurrying to make a left turn from the opposing lane and slammed into my driver's door. I couldn't believe she didn't see me. I veered to the right to avoid a head on collision which on reflection probably wasn't the safest thing to do. If she had been in a large vehicle I might not be writing this. A little sore today, but no one was injured. Very impressed by how well the C63 withstood the impact - caved in the driver door, but was still able to open it. Some additional damage to the left front fender and scrapes along the rear passenger door and quarter panel. Fortunately she missed the wheels. Driver was a 20 year old female from out of state. Said this was her first accident, I replied "lucky me". Shop estimate is one week and $6k. Sorry no pics, but didn't feel like sharing the visual damage.

Thanks, guys. Yeah she probably was texting. Seeing the doc later today to get checked out. Funny thing is she was wearing a nurse gown so she works in the healthcare field. You would think she'd be more careful. I think she may have mumbled an apology at some point, but didn't seem concerned about what she caused. She wanted to leave before the cop arrived, but I told her to stay.

the horns were worth the cost of all the custom install we had to do . i have the whole setup right behind the front bumper and you would never know it's there without being told . they paid themselves off by the first week . you can't imagine how many stupid drivers we have here in El Paso , Tx . the first day with them , i had a young girl in a Cavalier , doing here make-up , cut me off because she wasn't paying attention . she had her windows down so i was nice enough to pull up next to her and "beep" the horn . she freaked out and jerked the car to the left and hit the curb with the driver side wheels . i could go on with many stories but that was just the first day...........i love my horns ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)

I used to have cop sirens and a loud speaker installed in my Escalade, used to mess with people acting stupid and try to pull them over. Lmaoo

While I think it is kinda funny.. At the same time, you are contributing to the problem.. Think about it.. what if there was a car on the other side of her instead of a curb... you would have just caused an accident, becoming part of the problem... ![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just a thought...

And admitting to a felony on the internet.. is just plane stupid..
Rule of thumb.. if it will get you fined, arrested.. or killed in a hail of bullets... don't post it to the internet...
This PSA brought to you by... me

No.. just being helpful.. sorta.. plenty of stories abound of people posting stuff to the internet (youtube specifically) of their shenanigans (I love that word) and the cops showing up at their doorstep.

i'm not 18 yrs old . i think i know when to do it and when not to . i did it cuz there was a curb . i will keep using my train horns when necessary and maybe if you come to El Paso , and cut me off , you might get a little "beep beep" of your own.......

I was sorely tempted to tell her something along the line that if she keeps driving like that someone is going to get killed, but decided against it. I work in a fast paced professional field and try not to overreact to situations. I doubt that she would have accepted anything I had to say in the spirit it was given. Did I mention she had lots of tattoos?
