Pricing question: looking at getting into a C63
Hey guys,
My first post over here and it's because I'm looking to join the Ax Murderer club. I found a C63 that I'm in love with but I need help if I'm spending too much. It's between this car and an M5. Details on the car:
2010 black on black and has all the options including the PP. Car has 10k miles and is in perfect shape!!
The dealership is asking 55k. I tried to negotiate down to 52k but they wouldn't budge as they said they are selling it to me at what they have into the car. It's not at a MB dealership, it's at an Aston Martin dealership and they took the car in on trade. I can finance it for 72 months at 4.4%
The main reason why I'm thinking of spending a little more at a dealership vs going the private seller route is that my bank wont lend me the full value, thus I would have to put a good bit more down on the car. Not really wanting to do that because I've never kept a car more than 2 years and putting a large amount down isn't what I want to do. Going through the dealership will allow me to get a great financing rate and a long term.
Am I crazy for spending that much?
Just a little history, here is a shot of my old e46 m3 and of my current 805rwhp z06...I'm definitely not new to building, or tuning, a car

the bank might not be lending you the full value of the car because of your credit and they also don't want an upside down auto loan. At 72 months and no dp, you're going to be upside down on your loan immediately. The price is pretty decent.

If the car's in great shape it's a very good price.
Things to consider: how much tire tread is left and how much brake life left (probably more than 50% for the rotors at this mileage). If the car needs new tires now or shortly after you buy it, that's an additional cost. Plus, any service that needs doing, because this non-MB dealership probably didn't do one.

Good luck.
Edit: just noticed the car has PP. In that case $55k is a fair price.

Thanks for your comments guys. I have great credit (just got my report and its 760) and am going to put down $7,500 down so I won't be upside down/under water. As for tires, they are new and the brakes look good after inspecting them. Looks like Ill pull the trigger

Try a different bank or credit union cause that is a high rate with your credit. Although...it could be cause you want a 72 month term.

It's due to the long term....I can easily get around 2-3% if I wanted a 60 mo term. For 72 months, 4.4% is free month imho

Yeah, when you're beating bikes your car is really quick. Must be fun. Do you have headers? Sorry, I know I derailed your thread.

If you are talking about the Aston Martin dealer in Dallas, then yes, that is a very clean 2010. I was looking at it myself and almost bought it, but ended up going for a Steel Grey 2010 with 6k miles at another dealer who offered me a much better trade value on my car. (630hp 08 911 Turbo)
Incidentally, I know that car has the alcantara inserts on the steering wheel, but I think they may have just been a stand alone option. I don't think the car has the PP because there is no other indications it has it (red brakes, carbon fiber spoiler, titanium air intake). But it was an early 2010 and apparently there was a few months period of time where cars where coming off the line with very different versions of the PP, so you never know.
Maybe you can have a Mercedes dealer pull the original build sheet so you can confirm?
Oh, and congrats on the car!

I confirmed that it is a P30 combo by MB...it's not a P31. The brakes are the compound brakes as you can see below. I also googled the vin and came up with this:
https://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=171673008297
It was built in late 2009 so I think it was labeled as a 2010...it has some 2010 options like the updated mirrors, but has some 2009 options like the P30 package

Nice looking car. From what I hear will run a little on the firm side with track oriented suspension springs. It is a 2010. They switched over from P30 to P31 Development Package in December 2009 I think. I ordered mine in early Feb 2010 and the dealer knew the Performance Package had changed but was still not yet up on the details until they looked into it for me. I ended up finding the P31 details on the AMG site through info I found on MBW. The P30 had the limiter raised (to 174mph?) and LSD but no extra horses or engine internals.
