No good, hate those storms. Fingers crossed all the dealers had the forethought to keep their new vehicles under cover and the new delivery goes well

1. What do you guys think looks better on the magnetite black car? Silver or black wheels? I have black now and can have a free changeover in feb cause they supplied the wrong ones. I know black cost a little more and don't show brake dust, but I think the silver just make the car a little more classy, thoughts?

2. Driving to christmas dinner yesterday in the 2day old c63 and got caught in the hail. The hail was pelting down, I was on the freeway, pulled off in a mad panic, Could hardly see where I was going but fanged it everywhere trying to find cover. Within 2 mins had found a bridge to pull under, was there for 15 minutes thanking the heavens the car was out of danger, the hail I did get hit with wasn't big enough to dint. What a stress I tell ya...

1.yeah,last year, you could have either wheel with the P.P. for no extra charge, but this year there is $2K extra charge for the black ones. I would've chosen the silver ones, so with my palladium car, that is what I have specified on my car...but the black ones would've cost me $2k extra. I believe that as the wheels are identical except for colour, it simply amounts to what YOU like.
2 Well done with the hail!!..Our car came off the boat 22/12, & AT THIS STAGE, the dealer tells me that the car was off the wharf, and under cover...I will get final confirrmation tomorrow. I actually spoke to a wharf employee who told me that "many" of the cars were gone by Christmas Day, & that he had his own car out there that day, & that the hail that they did get there was only very light, with no damage to his car at all, so we shall see what we shall see.
Cheers, Pickles.

Hey Pickles on pick up day just remember to have a very good look at the bodywork BEFORE you even think about signing delivery papers etc etc. If your new car is sitting outside covered in rain drops waiting for you to pick it up run a mile!!

I actually like the black with silver lip look and you can't beat it for hiding the brake dust...

Silver without a doubt, it looks great on a dark car plus black is done to death these days.

IMO black wheels for white or silver cars and silver wheels for most colors.

You should be ok. All the MB's landing in Vic start off at Prixcar in Altona (no hail down there) and then they are shipped to the selling dealer.

Which dealer you getting it from? Just ring and ask if any of their cars were
damaged.

Prixcar?....Correct.
But, first they gotta get 'em of the wharf.....the question is, did that happen before the hail arrived?!
Cheers, Pickles.

To the best of my knowledge there was no hail in the CBD or dock area.

I fix hail damage and I'm in Melb at the moment, so have a good idea of where the damage is as I've been quoting cars since arriving.

The dealer also has a duty to disclose if any cars are/were Hail damaged. Even if the have been repaired.

There was a black C63 coupe with Performance pack on showroom floor at Mercedes Brisbane last week. Apparently the customer bought it while he's waiting for his Black series to arrive.

Thanks for your response...I've spoken to the people on the Dock..Webb Dock, who knew the ship.....and the cars......and who also said, light hail did actually fall on Webb Dock on Christmas Day.
I've sinse spoken to Prixcar, who said my car arrived there 24/12.....BEFORE the hail.....only ascertained that today!!!...so all looks good!
Good to know you are a "Hail Expert"....I have an old friend in Ballarat, who also does this stuff..."DentsRUs".....have you heard of him?.....Our immaculate little Astra SRI actually got hammered in Eltham, so they will be fixing that.
Cheers, Pickles.

C63 AMG Coupe, BMW E92 M3 manual
Guys a bit OT but just a tip for all the about-to-be coupe owners: the front spoiler is pretty vulnerable. I hadn't really noticed from the pics and non AMG models I've seen in the dealers, but the spoiler on our cars is V-shaped ( comes to a point in the centre line of the car) and protrudes more than you might expect. I've already clipped mine on the ramp of Wisemans Ferry outside Sydney :-(. It's also low enough to collect kerbs and bollards in car parks that were easily cleared by other cars I've owned. You have been warned!

I haven't noticed too much of an issue. It does seem as though parking sensors are aimed quite low so they so I stop as soon as I get all the bars in the display. So far so good.
