The only problem with this is, that Mercedes-AMG doesn't make a Black Series Sedan. And I don't think they will, as a Black Series has always been a Coupe period; SLK, SL, CLK and now C.

If the article and spyshots are to believed...maybe AMG is changing their philosphy to include sedans. Audi makes RS sedans and BMW makes M sedans...maybe AMG views the black series as a way to usurp those competitors with a performance index that trumps "standard" AMG offerings.

I agree with Jeff and Rory, but it could also be a test mule for a limited DTM edition? They had a CLK DTM edition before.

I guess we'll find out before long but I can't imagine why MB would be testing a widebody sedan...if they wanted a mule, why not use a C class coupe?
Doesn't it seem odd that MB/AMG would be tracking a widebody sedan as a mule for the BS coupe? And if so, why the fender flares? I think this could be an intersting development.

Just looked at the pics. That is definitely a new test mule. The coupe is already done so this is a great sign. Fingers crossed

So why is mbwaisting time and testing sedans then? I love all the doubters. Time will tell. I think it would be a smart move as many want the sedan over a coupe. Just my .02

Maybe it's a mule for the 2013. At the AMG perfomance tour, the instructor mentioned that the one of the reasons that the 2012 C63 didn't get the 5.5L biturbo was because the engine is too wide to fit in the current gen C.

Its not an old mule, so it hasnt been laying around. Its new gear and the second sedan mule we've seen. Just saying its odd and I wouldnt be surprised to hear they are releasing a sedan BS. Especially since so many are wanting one. I'll buy a CLK BS before I buy a new C63 BS. If a sedan C63 BS comes out for sure I'll be in that
