Common problem that they crack or common problem that the bolts are loose?

I dont know if the problem is the gasket or the bolts. But my tech told me they used different bolts when they fixed mine so I assume its a problem with the bolts and not the gasket itself.. That is unless they changed the gasket design or material and he never mentioned it or was unaware of it.

I have the car there now and they found a leak on the intake manifold gasket, its a known problem with the M156, there is a SB for it. I talked to another member which had the same problem, they changed his intake gasket and used new bolts, he hasn't seen the CEL since.

The techs sprayed some brake cleaner around the intake gasket and got a rough idle at one spot, indicating a weak seal.

Its nothing major, its more to do with emissions, the ECU is really sensitive to these issues I am told.
They told you they sprayed HIGHLY flammable and paint damaging brake cleaner all over your engine while it was running? They sound smart.

You are supposed to use water.
