The best recorded time I have in mine tune only is 0-60 in 3.58. That was with DR's though.

The track prep for that test must have been really good to get 3.7 0-60 on street tires.
Oh yeah and THERE IS NO WAY this could happen! If you can't do it in your car it's not going to happen Oh yeah the only magazines that have accurate 0-60 time published are the ones that have the C63 over 4.5 right?

I will give you my VBOX. I will give you 20 tries to get a 3.7 in your stock C63 on street tires. You will never see 3.7 0-60. I will give you my VBOX if you do, if you cant you give me back my VBOX plus the $500 I paid for it.

You are starting to sound like a crazy fanboy rather than a race enthusiast. The C63 is a great car but im sorry to dissapoint you it is not the fastest car in the universe. Maybe the Race Start MCT helps though. Id like to see more data first though.

(For all those curious this has to do with me stating that the Boss 302 is quicker in the 1/4 than a C63 stock for stock... I know I know.. Blasphemy )

3.7 is very impressive, I would like to know how it compares to the C63 Sedan?

I'd really like to try a vbox out at my next track day to see how it works. Is it simple to use (plug and play?)

I tried using the silly iphone dyno app for kicks and recorded a 4.23 0-60 on the street (haven't used at the track)...not sure how accurate that is though it seems in line with published 0-60 times. (my car is tuned)

@propain. Not a "fanboy" at all. Quoted the 3.9 time that Car and Driver posted in 09 with a stock C63 and your response is that "sometimes they are really high and sometimes they are really low" I guess it matters which side of the fence your on when that theory applies. Nope no "fanboy" here just someone who knows when he here's a whole bunch of BS.

No problem! I would be happy to let you use it.

Yes, just plug it in. 4.2 is pretty close for stock 0-60 on streets. Probably 4.0-3.9 on streets with the tune. Its hard to launch without spin, even harder with the tune.

Reality is the best medicine. Myself and many others know the reality of what the C63 can do. I can tell you a stock 451HP C63 on street tires would be really hard pressed to get a sub 4 unless the track prep something out of the ordinary street. There is simply to much wheel spin. Tuned on drag radials in -1200 DA and I was running anywhere from 3.5 to 3.9. AGAIN, maybe the MCT with launch control has improved that. I am talking about pre 2012 models here as I have no data on the 2012's

I really do take all the articles with a grain of salt. I dont know.. there was a lot of eye rolling, and big caps and head thumping in your post. You seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder about it. My bad if im reading it wrong.

on normal pavement I doubt that you could replicate those numbers.

oh yeah I want a c63 coupe really bad for christmas. white w balck wheels if youre listening santa

No not at all brother. You're reading it wrong. Just a little ribbing... I happen to really like AMGs. The history, technology, performance and the brand all are reason I have owned two. Hey and the "M" in AMG is my first name. You can't beat that. We all react differently to different things. My family and myself have own Porsches to (about 8 all together)... all 911s. If you think I sound like a "fanboy" about AMGs...don't get me started on 911s. My feeling is this. I joined this forum because I’m interested in AMGs and I own one. Hey that's MY reason. I am a car enthusiast just like everyone else. But if hell freezes over and I decide to buy a POS Mustang and live in a trailer then I’ll go and join a Mustang forum. It would be interesting to learn the benefits of inbreeding. At least that's the way I look at it.... Talking about other cars on this forum is ok to a point.... but some threads go on and on about how the CTSV, 302 or whatever is this or that.... I mean who cares. I didn't join MBforums to learn about Mustangs. But hey that's just me. Everyones different.

Thats cool. I hear you as well. I just like to keep it as real as possible and not get my vision clouded by brand loyalty. I own to many different brands to do that. I would never buy a Mustang. Never owned one in my life and most likely never will no matter the numbers. Even if its faster.

I remember back about a year ago on this forum when people were coming on here saying that the C63 was beating the GTR stock for stock. Big debates then. There are people who just think the car they drive is the fastest or the quickest and ignore the facts and only read the articles that serve their opinion. I tend to chime in on threads like those. This really isnt one of them though because as I said, a kill is a kill, even if it was a driver error.

I love my Porshe as well.. Hell I love all cars. I was a big American Muscle racer about 10 years ago so I tend to lean a little more than others to the domestics but I truely love my AMG. Im on #2 and I think I might even get another one I have my eye on.

Either way, im here for the same reason most are. I love my AMG.

I'm with Propain on this one. Wherever they tested must of been at see level in cool temps on a grippy surface.

I don't see that 3.7 being repeated unless in the specific conditions. Even before the update C63 there was 1 magazine that ran 3.9 and I haven't seen that time posted ever again. Most run 4.1-4.4

I am sure the new tranny shaves a tenth or 2 due to the big increase in shift speed.

nice to hear from you Nick. The reallity is that my 09 c63 sedan is just so much more practical than a coupe that I don't see myself buying a new 2012 coupe paying big $$$ to end up with a slightly faster car with a better interior but that is much less practical than a sedan.

I personnaly like the front bumper from the 09 better than the 12. I think it looks more aggressive w the double side vents and the angular / pointy lower part of the front bumper.

If you're in Montreal give me a call and we'll grap a bite to eat.

I'm sure the 3.7 time is with a 1 foot rollout so .3sec more for real time to 60.
