C63 Coupe runs 3.7 0-60!!!

"With a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, the torquey C63 slaps a twin-clutch BMW M3 in the face (4.2 seconds) and then laughs out loud to the finish line."

2012 C63 Coupe P31
This is great news. Always knew that Merc under rates their 0-60 times. So if this is the motortrend "best" time then an expected average would be about 4sec? Pretty sweet. Can't wait to get behind the wheel of mine, then drive it in comfort mode at less than 4500rpm for week, then play

You guys know that time is for the optional Perf pack-481hp not the base. Which is 451hp. Well a tune will take care of that.

Yeah same 255s in the rear. They save the 285s for the Blk Series C63.

Surprisingly, the tires they use aren't that skinny.
I actually measured a 275 Hankook and the OEM 255 Pirelli Pzero with a digital caliper and the Hankooks were only 2mm wider.
Even the Continentals run wide, so in reality it might say 255 but its actually wider.

Very nice times on street tires. This is the P31. Pretty much a tuned base C63.

The best recorded time I have in mine tune only is 0-60 in 3.58. That was with DR's though.

The track prep for that test must have been really good to get 3.7 0-60 on street tires.

I agree, not sure if it needs more of a fender flare in the rear, or a wheel with a lip maybe?

yes but they should put 275 p zero in the back. Come on, an m3 has 265 in the rear and an 1 series m1 had 275s in the rear if I'm not mistaken.

The black series should have 305 or 325 in the back IMO

I'm pretty sure the 3.7 sec is with a 1 foot rollout wich usually takes off 0.3 sec to the 0-60 time. very likely also that the test was done on a drag strip with super stick black top. that's the only way to get a 480 hp, 3800+ pound rear wheel drive car with 255s in the rear to grip enough to do a 3.7 s 0-60.

on normal pavement I doubt that you could replicate those numbers.

oh yeah I want a c63 coupe really bad for christmas. white w balck wheels if youre listening santa

Cars.
I'd be all over one if they'd cleaned up the middle buttons under the Navi. It also needs fatter tires. 255's for that much power is anemic.

I am sure they know it because I am also a member of the M3 forum. We all know that the C63 AMG is a great fast everyday car specially on a straight road. The M3 is a great track every day car. I got both.
