That is a sharp looking wheel. I think a lot of us are looking to cut out some serious unsprung weight. To me that means getting front wheels (18X8.5) that are under 19 lbs. and rear wheels (18X9.5) that are under 20 lbs.

I haven't checked with their website yet but the choice of wheel for anyone with a BMW car for the Dragstrip is the Kosei K1s. They are light as hell 17"x9" are 16.8lbs ...that is light!! I someone is just looking for something light for the dragstrip I think this would be the way to go.

I think that if a rim is over 20lbs that is too much. The stock 06-09 C6 Z06 rear wheels weight 22lbs and they are 19"x12", that is light folks!! They are made specifically for the Z06 and made in Italy.

Headed down to CCW HQ/ Factory in Daytona Beach today to pick up my CCW C10 wheels powder coated in hyper silver (18X8.5 & 18X9.5 w/ 275 Super Sports out back!). John, the owner of CCW, really gives folks great customer service.

The wheels are on and the ride is fantastic! I must have shaved more unsprung weight than I thought I would because everything seems more responsive-braking, turning and the gas pedal. It really feels different in a good way.

The wheels looks great in person. They are much more silver than the pics (the 3rd from the bottom is closest to the real color). The center caps are being engraved and will be on soon. Here are some pics of the new wheels with 3 disclaimers: pics taken with a cell phone (+photoshop help), super dirty car, no center caps.

My 5 year old son liked the factory...

sorry, I only took one mediocre snapshot with my iphone when I went to get gas, it was difficult to take a pic without too much noise in low light, here is a colored version of the same pic if that helps. I will get better pictures in the future.

I had a Qauife installed right before the tires went on, I can say that wider tires with softer tirewall made a larger difference than Quaife in straight line accelerations, as it should. I had 245/40/18 and 275/35/18 Super Sports installed, road noise was significantly lower, ride quality was much more compliant and most of all grip in all situations increased. I must comment on the ride quality again as this is my daily transportation, there is a certain patch of free way that is "wavy" due to a not properly laid foundation underneath the asphalt, so after 18 wheels with extra heavy loads ran it over the result was some major havoc on the road surface. When I drive over this particular section with continental sportcontacts 5p, I can actually hear the shocks compress since there are major jerk movements, but with new tires this annoyance has disappeared. I did not weigh the stock wheels and tires combo but the new package with air properly filled is 43lbs front and 45lbs rear, so not sure how is that compared to stock since I do not have that data on hand. As for my butt dyno, I couldn't detect a better acceleration of sorts but the yellow triangle does flash less now but I can definitely tell that the car can leave the line much harder in 1st gear so the "slidding threadshold" has indeed increased as I hoped.

I'm happy to adress any and all questions and hope it does not clutter up this useful thread.

Good info.-thanks. From the weights I've seen posted for oem wheels/ tires, it looks like you shaved a total of 24 lbs. of unsprung weight, which is huge.

On my conversion from 19's, I only saved around 16 lbs. total. Much less was cut in back (3 lbs./ corner), but I really feel whatever I saved up front (5 lbs./ corner vs. the 7 you saved).
