since you already have a new CLS63 with the PP, why not replace the E63 with a new C63 coupe? it won't be as fast, but it's a sportier car. or like others have already suggested, wait for the C63 Black Series.

e63's are awesome looking no doubt. but to be honest with you. at the amg driving schools the e63 is my least favorite one to drive. my favorite was the c63 four door. i have the c63 coupe now and i like it much better than the four door.....so i highly recommend making the change. plus the interior is more e class quality in the 2012 so that helps alot. just make sure you get every option on the c63 and you will be happy.

Vic just said, and I agree with him, that the materials in the 2012 are not on par with the E63. I sat in a C63 coupe at Princeton MB the other day and was not impressed though my hopes were very high. Sure the interior looks great, but the way it feels is another matter.

Besides, from a driving standpoint, have you seen his other rides? His GTR and 911TT can rip anything at a track.

So let me ask the opposite question.

I currently have a 2009 non-P30/P31 C63 and am looking to move to an E63 because I'd like something a little bigger and with a few more creature comforts. With the 2012's coming out I was considering saving some cash and getting a 2011 with the 6.2.

Would the 2011 E63 feel slower than my C63 due to the added weight? Has anyone else made the switch and have any comments?

I plan to drive a 2011 and a 2012 E63 next week.

I'm actually torn about my opinion regarding your situation (not that it matters ). On the one hand, the E has a lot more MB class than the C..it's more refined. Fact is however that you have the new cls which is even more so. The C is sportier and handles far better than an E with the airmatic (personal experience from that) which obviously leads to a sportier ride. Either way you can't go wrong.
That is one nice E though. Doesn't mean the C couldn't be nice as well But as long as you don't base your decision on posts such as "yeah, do it! i wanna see what comes of it!" i'm glad :P

Drove the coupe yesterday and frankly I wasn't into it. Wasn't thrilled with the interior, a few changes had me disappointed. Nav screen set in the dash with speakers not symmetrical bothered my eyes. Didn't like the buttons fr the stereo or the plastic surround. Not enough trim and too much blank plastic. Steering wheel seems a bit bigger. It also seemed quieter than my sedan....maybe mine is broken in, maybe the extra doors creates more gap for sound, I don't know but the coupe seemed muted.

On the plus side, transmission shifted really nicely, and the tech upgrades were much needed. Love the bluetooth audio. Also like the cup holders in the backseat.

Overall, much prefer the sedan, and actually thinking about a 2010 E depending on price and if I can stomach the size....traditionally the E feels wayyyy too big for me, will give it another shot.

The 2013 Shelby GT-500 looks Like it might be a beast. when it comes out hopefully Ford fixed the traction issue!

But your E63 is Sweet!

After I drove the C Coupe my thoughts pretty much echo'd yours about the interior. Its definitely a fast car! But the E is staying for now.

Suspension is H and R springs up front and SDS airmatic adjustments in the rear.

I have been on the fence in between the C63 and E63. I drove some 2010 cars back to back. According to my butt-o-meter the C63 definitely felt quicker and more responsive plus it had an exhaust tone that I simply fell in love with and extremely disappointed the E63 lacks that. Guess for me I was expecting to get out of the C63 into the E63 and have a similar driving experience. I realize tossing it around corners will obviously be different but the acceleration/ride on the freeway was definitely different. Almost seemed strange that the acceleration did not seem the same, but those were butt-o-meter judgements and also not WOT sprints but more moderately aggressive driving that is more likely to be seen by me than WOT sprints.

My considerations have actually been to either get a new 2012 C63 or a CPO 2010 E63. I have not had a chance though to look at a 2012 to see if the improvements to the interior would satisfy the things I did dislike inside the 2010 C63. At the end of the day though we probably will go with the E63 due to the size of the car. Our current 3-series BMW has never been a good fit size wise for us and probably a good sign the C class will have similar issues even though it did seem slightly bigger.

Something about the C63 coupe in all the pictures and videos I have seen that I just love. I'd happily cram the kids into the backseat of one like sardines and drive one of those every day. My wife though does not seem to look at things the same way as me.

seriously tho, what aspects do u think were cost cutting?
I am really curious about this as well since I too am in the market for a 2010 and always nice to know what people considered cost cutting. If something about the 2010 that should be avoided then perhaps I should wait a little bit and look into the 2011.

I 100% agree. I usually see Japan automakers copying the Germans but I think this was the other way around. Keep the E63.

Keep the E63. Its more luxurious then a C63. You have your pure sports cars. BTW my friend has a 2010 E63 with cat delete, tune. Sounds badass.

Your E63 is unbelievably stunning. And it's a full size sedan that breathes fire.
I'd find it hard to let go of this beauty under any circumstances short of bankruptcy.

Looks like you already came to a decision but my thought is if you're feeling 'bored' with the e63 then I'd just save up until you can make another big jump (ZR1, GTR, 458, etc). I had a g35 prior to the amg and I always told myself I wouldn't get another car until it was a significant jump (which I think the c63 definitely is in terms of pulling power/interior/exhaust).

Oh, I just read your list of cars...nm.

You clearly need something in that top 1% of cars.
