5.5 BiTurbo is reportedly for C63 in MY2013

That was also with me maxing out pretty much every option on the C. A base C63 doesn't have multimedia, lighting, keyless, etc. Some of those options are standard on the E.
But a base E63 for 89k vs an optioned out (my personal options) C63 for 83k? Guess it depends on what you are looking for.

Every option there is with premium paint is 127K for the E63.
44K difference.

That's a load of crap and pure urban legend...Brabus proved 3 years ago you can stuff a 6.3 V12 Twin Turbo in a C Class....
If you think they had to shoehorn a 6.2, what do you think they did when they had 6 header tubes on each side
Merecedes/AMG/Brabus engineers have proven they can do whatever they want...that's why they can build the best suite of performance cars in the world....without limits
There is no 5.5 TT in the C Class because they want a clear delineation when it comes to performance. You stuff the 5.5TT in the entry level AMG C class and it will walk on the E/CLS/CL/S Class AMG's all day and that does not make sense from a pricing perspective.
If you want big power you have to step up to the E/CLS/CL/S

Yes, they put that engine in that car... how many of those are produced a year vs. the C 63 and what modifications did they do to fit it in? I didn't mean that it was impossible to put the 5.5tt into the car, just that there would be some modifications from the OEM car in order to do so. The C63 benz is already changed from the regular C class to accommodate the larger engine. I completely agree that they want there to be a difference between their lower end Benz's and the higher end cars performance wise etc. That being the case they could still put the 5.5 TT in the C 63 and just limit its boost so that it is still out performed by the higher class benz... they do this with the 6.2 engine now by limiting its performance when compared to other Benz's with the 6.2 in a higher class.
When you drive a $175K S63...they want you to take pride in knowing that you have something better/more than the guy that just pulled up beside you in his $70K C63....

And that's exactly why they won't do it again. It's a premium brand with specific tiers and it makes perfect business sense to draw a line when it comes to models and powerplants vs amount paid.

I think they really figured no one would be able to crack their ECU. ooops...
Next people will ask when the V12 will be available in the C class next.

I am keeping my C63 for a while. I like the current powerdelivery and sound. The fitment of the 5.5l TT will bring lots o wheelspin and uncontrolable driving. Really not worthy considering that the C63 "5.5TT" will probably have the anorexic 255s rear tires and no LSD. No thanks!!! I rather keep a more "managable" power delivery.

I doubt the next engine will be boosted. Maybe a tuned version of the 5.5L in the SLK is my guess. Hopefully Mercedes will do it right with PROPER rear tires and a standard rear LSD that has the ability to lock 100% like the Active ///M Diff in the M5.
I can't believe Bi-Xenon headlights are an option on this car.

ive been following this thread and really, im not worried about it. the 5.5tt is probably a tuners dream and it gets a little better gas mileage but who can complain about the current 6.2. im completely happy with what i have now and even if the new c63 comes with the 5.5tt i will not be upgrading because of that.
man, 20 years ago a car with 300 hp, 0-60 in 5+ and 1/4 miles in 13+ was everything we could ever ask for. now we have 500 horsepower monsters and it just isnt enough lol.

If the C63 is getting the 5.5TT, it'll be in a W205 in late 2015 (MY2016)

It's not going in the W204, those who think so are dreaming. If it was, it would've gone in the facelifted cars. I can't think of a time when MB changed engines mid cycle that didn't coincide with a facelift.

Yes...I don't believe my view was contradictory to what you've said here...and I only mentioned that the 5.5TT could be put in the car because you put the pictures of the Brabus C63 with the V12 in it to show me that when I said they wouldn't put a 5.5TT in the next gen C63 that it could fit ( correct?) I'm not sure what point you're trying to get across... that I was wrong when I said the 5.5 TT wouldn't fit with out mods and that they wouldn't be putting it in their new C63 ( because that was my original post) unless perhaps they use the 5.5 naturally aspirated. Obviously they want to differentiate their classes of cars to reflect in pricing, if not why would anyone buy the more expensive when the cheaper will suffice.

This magazine did a comparison between the 6.3NA and 5.5TT change that went into the E63 ... brief but still noteworthy.

Mercedes is currently designing the W205, that will replace the W204 platform. This new platform will most likely except the 5.5L Bi-Turbo engine. I can't say if this is a fact or not. But speculations is that it will. I'm happy with my 6.2L NA beast.

Just because you can do it, doesn't mean it can be done reliably or on a large production scale.
I agree with this statement, I mean MB stuffed straight 8s in 190Es back in the day, it could be done but never went in production.

Trust me, if AMG wanted to stuff any engine into any platform, they will exercise due diligence, to ensure that it will fit without any issues.

Callmiro is the one making the most sense here, however emissions restrictions could come into play here. Remember Merc and BMW are not going turbo because they want to, they're going turbo because they have to.
