Bumper damaged. Can this be repaired?
Hi all, a large piece of metal flew out of of no where on the freeway yesterday and hit my front bumper. I did my best to avoid this, but unfortunately it still got a piece of my bumper.
I have full front clear bra to protect my bumper front stone chips, but this fly object still caused some damages. Can my bumper be easily repaired without getting a new one? Also, does anyone know if I can just replace a small piece of the clear bra??
Thanks

The clear bra will have to be removed and replaced to fix that. It isnt possible to replace just a small section... and I imagine you are going to have to get some paint work done. Good thing is your insurance will cover the replacement cost of the clear bra.

That totally sucks man, i hate freeway driving because of stuff like this.
I think it's totally fu<ked.
Sorry, but I think most shops will want to replace the whole bumper.
Fixing that looks like a total pain in the ***.
I think working on the interior of that fin to get it flush and clean will take a while.
Just my.02

I feel your pain.. people who drop **** on the highways should be shot if they do not pick the crap up...
Some lovely individual (who I later saw on the side of the road, but on the wrong side of the barrier and I could not stop) dropped a drawer into the highway at some point and I smashed into it. I was between two cars, and had no place to go doing around 65mph (the limit is 65 so not speeding) at night and it came up fast.
Fortunately, no damage to the bumper, however the skid plate under my car was not so lucky.. and the drawer's metal slider got jammed up into and and did some fun damage. At least no damage to the car itself, just the plastic skid plate.

I bought mine at American Service Center, I get the employee discount through my parts guy. Last Year when I was at Euromotorcars of Bethesda for a DIY event, I noticed that both the belly pans were damaged, when my car was on the lift. Euromotorcars wanted like $360 for both panels. So I contact my friend at ASC, and bought them real cheap. It pays to network.

It's repairable and a PITA to do so because the inside duct is also cracked through and body shop power sanding tools will not fit inside which means a lot of sanding using sticks. But most shops may not want to touch it because it looks the the bottom corner is also cracked through which means the next time you scrape the bottom coming out of a steep driveway, it may split again. In this case, more than likely it would be replaced. Hope your deductible is less than $500.
