Video Clips (Sound) ROW Air boxes
As requested in several PMs....
My car is a 2012 C63 Sedan with Performance Package APX
Stock airbox on left ROW on right.
Video is with ROW air boxes and AFE Dry Flow Filters (Charcoal delete... as ROW boxes do not accommodate them)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZV5a8fhcts
The ROW boxes are substantially louder.
Car was reved to about 3000-3300rpm
Enjoy!
PS: I'm getting my MBH X pipe installed tomorrow.... Gonna sound even meaner!

Is there an easier way to get these? I suspect we can order thru the dealer if we provide the part #...as stated below me that is a cold start for sure...difficult to make a distinction btwn stock and ROW boxes in that sense.

Both were cold starts.
Edit: both were starts after the car sat for 45min to an hour in my office parking lot.
The first video the day was warmer and my friend who used my phone to record didn't press record till after I started it.
Took out the non row box video for arguments sake.

There is a noticeable change in volume once you switch box tops.

Now, I wonder if the front intake panel @ grill difference you noted will make a difference? I can't imagine that piece being too expensive. If we can get a PN, we can order it like the ROW box tops.

I give credit to Lomita for helping me get started. You mentioned a X-pipe. I find that when I added the MBH X on my K2 setup, it changed the tone to a higher frequency and you lose some of the bark. Kinda reminds me of my friend's E93 M3 with Gintani cat back.

When I rev it though it feels like it flows and pushes out the exhaust gas more freely.
We'll see when I cold start it.
I'll see if I can get a part number off the front piece and compare the numbers. It would be really really weird if they were the exact same PNs

If I already have charcoal delete and AFE prodry on US spec box, is there really any difference in power? I feel like 90% of the restrictions is just in charcoal delete and air filters, that tiny minor shape difference doesn't seem like it will make much of a difference.
