Keepin it real....not sure I like the look that much. I don't know if it's the shape or way it fits to the hood, or just the color. I don't want to say anything negative because you rock when it comes to modding the C63. I hope my comment isn't out of place!

The car is now a freaking monster. I think V2 of your Dad's hood should be made. As much as I like the AMG power domes, I think it is now time to rid of them and incorporate the scoop.

I agree with this.

I think the disruption of the hood bulges looks out of place.
Maybe it would look better if the intake sides landed in the center of each bulge?? Or just eliminate the bulges altogether.

I also agree it doesn't look right. It looks too "bolted on". It would look much better if it was molded in to look like one piece. You did say "fire away".

you can mold the outside/edges so it flows, but that's all cosmetic.

How much does it help?

Okay - I'm gonna be honest. In my "minds eye" it was going to be awesome!! Then I stopped by this morning to see how it was going and I saw it for the first time on the car and I thought, "now thats a little more aggressive than I anticipated". Its WAY bolder than I thought.

Before I make anymore changes or spend more $$$ on this mod I need to make sure its functional and makes the additional power I hope it does. If indeed it does prove out like I hope it does it will go back to the body shop for some final adjustments.
Not sure what that will be but I'm wide open for your suggestions. I may just paint it body color or stripe it to start with and go from there. If you back up and look at the pictures of the scoop body color thats all it may take to make it look better. Sucks I'm having to redo what we started but thats R&D.

I appreciate your honesty and I'll always do the same. It does look crazy HOT coming down the road at you. When I say "its a little bold on my car" thats really saying something.

I'm trying to get a track rental next week somewhere to make some runs and see what improvements it really makes. Hopefully it pulls as hard as it feels already.

I dont think its too aggressive at all. what I think does stand out is the edge to the left and right front, where the carbon meets the hood. it seems a little out of place...awesome project though

I think if Mad Max had a C63 it would look like this.

I think it would look a lot better if the scoop was painted the color of the car.

Looking forward to see if you gain power from it. How will you be testing? 60-130 runs?

How are you sealing between the air boxes and the sides of the hood openings?

The way he has those air diverters, I don't think it can be made in one-piece.

Blend it in to the hood and paint same color - done!

Can't wait for some new track times/mph to see what gains you get.

Does this require a tune?

Way to push the envelope.

I dont know if you would ever need to get under that scoop again, but if you fixed a couple of the lines that are off imo, I think it could look amazing...

Always so much fun to log in and see what you are up to with that beast!
I really like the scoop in both colors. Since you already have lots of CF on the car it works, but if you wanted to go a little more understated where it wouldn't jump out quite so much than I think the car color works. I agree with a few of the others that if it was blended into the hood itself it would flow more with the curves of the hood instead of looking as if its been bolted on...which was perhaps your vision of the final product anyway? Since as you say its not finished but only in the "test" stage so that you know it performs as expected. Either way IMHO you have the sweetest car on this board and its nice to see that you race it too, as well as show it.
Cheers!
