Buying a C63 AMG in Toronto Need Help
Hi guys im currently looking into getting a nice c63 amg. Found one today and took a look at it and loved it. It's a 09' with 48k on it canadian car. But theres one problem with it that's killing me inside to let it go. Pulled out a carproof and there's a accident claim for almost $10,000 it doesn't say which parts. It happened in 09 at 13xxxk, went back to the dealership (not mercedes) and the seller there told me it was the front bumper damaged with the adaptive foglights that were repaired at the amount claimed. He also told me that mercedes did the repairs. Now for me personally 10k in repairs for just foglights and a front bumper seems a bit of a lie. What do you guys think? Also the car still has factory warranty till 2013 but im not sure if mercedes voided it due to the damage if they didn't repair it. Please help me guys , wanna be a proud owner of one of these beasts
Thanks
Mike

Get a copy of the detailed repair bill. It'll tell you a lot, particularly whether a) the radiator, b) the oil cooler, c) a/c components or other parts were replaced. If the 10k bill is legit though, I'd pass...good used C63's are out there that are not hitters.

I dont think you should get it, when the car have been any an accident especially in the fron there is lots off things you cant fix it.
The engine in the front and this is the most important think on the car.

STAY AWAY!!!! Look at other dealers, here in Ottawa as well, lots of Toronto people buy cars from Ottawa dealers, less accident cars and low mileage....in fact I gave up my 2008 C63 three weeks ago to a very very happy Toronto guy, he is in love with his first AMG car.

when i was looking in the used market, I saw a black 09 that was on sale, and when he sent me the pics of the damage, I RAN away from it.
Especially since this isn't a CPO, I wouldn't take a second look at it.
let's hope it's not the same car I looked at. The VIN number of the car I looked at was: WDDGF77X99F344659
Good luck with your search!

the seller is asking 48k plus hst and licensing fee.
Called Mercedes Benz NA and there was a note made on this car which tells me alot.
The vehicle hit a big pothole and caused 10k in repairs. Now here is the list of parts that were replaced at Midtown Mereceds Benz dealership :
power steering pump damaged
passenger side rim damaged
passenger side tire damaged
passenger side tie rod damaged
front & rear axle centered
distance check front
All of this was fixed at Midtown Mercedes. Now the seller said it was the front bumper and foglights but i guess he's wrong and its just mechincal repairs and no body repairs. Dont know what to do now Also its got the AMG performance pakage wich is hard to find and i'd really love to have it. Going to go test drive it tommorow, anything i should take a better look at?

Don't buy it. You will regret it when the honeymoon period is over and you notice little things that bug you.
Remember one day you too will have to sell this car and talk around this issue to your buyer or a dealer will ram you even worse on trade-in.
If you must have that price I'd take a higher miles car with no accidents. Shop around. Next couple months are a great time to buy a RWD performance car in Canada.

def stay away.
You might be able to find some deals from dealers trying to clear out their 2011's for the 2012 models. good luck and hope you join the family soon!
