What dealership may I ask?
Also - if you get an extended warranty, is it an MB extended warranty so that you can then go to any dealership, or is it exclusive to that dealership since the price is negotiable?
I have until 4/2013, and Im almost certain im going back to the F80 M3 so I'll have about a year of no warranty.

Obviously the MB-extended coverage is solid. I've heard nothing but good things about EasyCare, Chrysler (NLA for AMGs), and Ford service contracts. I've heard good and bad about Fidelity, but mostly good. Heard pretty bad things about Direct Buy. Not sure about Mercury...
...but, that said, the vast majority of service contract providers are shady, fly-by-night operations. A couple major media outlets have done stories on this - could probably google the results. The only way they get customers is by having a low upfront price - but they're notorious for denying (or at least fighting) any and every claim possible. Be careful who you select for this stuff, when you go with a third-party provider.

Just picked my '12 up. The finance guy and compared the MB plan and the extended warranty that USAA has and he had to admit the USAA one seemed to be more advantageous. He said he has never heard anything bad about the USAA extended vehicle protection. The plan I am looking at is $2 000- $3,000 for 100,000 miles depending on how many associated years, it goes up if you wait to buy it. I ran different quotes and it looks like if I would what to buy at 40,000 miles it could be as expensive as $8000. It is transferable, and you can get money back on the unused portion which you can't on the MB one.

If you shoot me the VIN# and current odometer reading, I can get you a quote on a great warranty. Probably 20+ people just here on MB World have it, and I have sold over 1000 of them. Lots of AMG cars, BMW M-series, Audi S/RS, etc.
Very solid company, reasonably priced plans, and ecellent coverage (exclusionary, aka bumper to bumper, covering everything from engine/trans, to COMAND nav, to seat heaters, etc).
Thanks!

Appreciate the offer. For me part of considering the warranty is the piece of mind. I "know" MB and USAA will stand behind their warranty. I think that the $2-3,000 range for 100k miles is reasonable and actually pretty cheap. Especially considering how expensive something on the C63 would probably be if it did break.
So for all the above, plus the ability to get my money back if I sell it, or even transfer it if I can use that as a sales point, as well as to pay it split up into 4 payments make the USAA protection plan a no brainer for me. I can't think of any reason I would go with any other aftermarket warranty product, they just couldn't make it cheap enough to be worth the hassle or lack of piece of mind if something did break and I had to worry about trying to get them to cover it. Especially, When I think that $2-3,000 range is pretty reasonable and cheap to begin with from a reputable company.

Dude, that is an awesome deal!. When I bought my C55 (back in 2010) I had to pay 3k for 3 additional years - 75k. I'll start looking for a decent 09 C63 (black on black) after I got some things right, and I'm interested in knowing how much do I have to pay for an extended warranty. I did several fixes to the C55, with Mercury, and these guys saved me a lot of money. Well worth it. I'll just do the same for the future C63.

I have an 09 with 42k miles and my warrenty is up in about 8 months so i am starting to shop...
This is a quote I just got from a MB dealer in San Diego. Apparently these numbers were a special till the end of Feb and now prices are 15% higher than what is listed below. I'm still shopping and will probably buy from MB or Mercury in 4 or 5 months. Is there any reason to buy now instead of waiting till I get closer to 50k????
Here was their qoute:
1year or 75k miles $2296
2years or 75k miles $3039
3 years or 75k miles $3499
*
1year or 100k miles $3629
2years or 100k miles $4469
3years or 100k miles $4999
*
1year or 125k miles $4359
2years or 125k miles $5249
3years or 125k miles $6149

Newbie
I have a 2008 with 34,000 Km's with warranty that expires soon. I made a deal with the local MB dealer for an additional 4 years of coverage or up to 160,000km's (not MB warranty, but they sell this with all their used cars and they said they enjoy making claims against them
It came to a total of $4100 CAD tax in (12% in British Columbia) and if I sell the car I can transfer the warranty to the new owner, or get a $1000 back in cash or $2000 towards another warranty on my next vehicle as long as I don't have any serious repairs and I keep up on the mait.
I think it's totally worth having the piece of mind that if my hand built motor blows up I won't be forking over the cash outta my pocket.
oh and that was with a $100 dollar deduct. The price goes down if you want a higher deduct.
I'll follow up on the company name tomorrow.

yeah, at the end of the day if the motor blows up and they won't fix it under warranty it's basically game over. i really want that piece of mind, if i can get a decent deal i might consider it, otherwise i'd rather pay an indy tbh.
wasn't someone in another thread was quoted $60k or something just for the engine? (in the end i believe it was covered but still)

This is more than 20% cheaper than a pre-Feb 29th "special" price I received from another dealer. They also indicated that this quote should stay the same during the remainder of my existing warranty, so I'm likely going to wait until the bitter end (4yrs / 50k) before I pull the trigger.

I was recently quoted a range of $2685 for a +3yr/+36k mi Toyota warranty to $3770 for a +3yr/75k mi MB warranty. The Toyota warranty sounds like a good deal but I'm not driving 1.5 hours for service. I'm leaning towards paying a little more and getting it from my local dealer. That way they are more inclined to want to service my car, especially since I didn't buy the car from them.
After reading all these posts, it also seems like there is no consideration for current mileage in the price of the ext. warranty. I only have 15k miles on my 2009 and I was quoted the same price for the 3 yr warranty as the guy in San Diego with 42k miles. Oh well.

i am shopping for a 09/10 C63 and was also wondering about extended warranties ...
what types of problems have owners on here had with their C63's? i know some have posted above that they have had warranty work that exceeded the cost of the warranty, but i was wondering if that was the norm.
also, am i correct in assuming that modding the car will void warranty?
