Looks like it is much, much cheaper where you are. Here in the states, it's costing 2k for my insurance to replace just the rear bumper cover from someone bumping into it while it was parked.

Frontal airbag deployment is based on rate of deceleration, ie how fast the car is decelerating based on the impact. His impact is high over the frontal rails which is softer than a direct impact to the bumper and front rails. Looks like the AMG brakes did their job as the car is nosediving suggesting the car was braking hard.

As one of only two people here who have seen the whole car I have to say I think it is done. I once had a kid on a 10 speed ride into the side of my car And do 9500 in damage. But I could be wrong so feel free to discuss.

Personally, after a couple of days my body, my head and my heart are all sorer than ever and I don't think I'm doing myself any favors reading OR posting here so I'm going to stay off the boards until I have something to report.

This may sound crazy, but maybe you can sell some of the parts to members of the forum and buy yourself a Slurpee, or something similar, to help ease the pain. Even though, I know the loss of a beauty like that is like a bad divorce, and the sense of loss is tremendous- you are very lucky- as far as I can tell- to have been driving a Mercedes and not

a Hyundai when the collision occurred- although from what I read Hyundai makes a decent car now- maybe make that a Leaf or a Prius.

do not trust your insurance company, if they can save 100 dollars by not totaling your car and leaving you with a messed up frankenstein they will! adjustors intentionally underbid repairs Progressive is the worst, demands you use used or made in thailand second rate parts and their elcheapo "approved" repair centers..lawyer up be glad you have enough money to own another car so they cant hold you s hostage

Rear bumper 2012 here in Europe costed me 1100euros, if not even less. Now that was with the diffusor and all the work done(pain job etc)
