Common Problems with the C63 AMG
#251
Vibration
My C63 with P31 has vibration at around 1400rpm. I have had the car at the dealer 2 times and both times I was told it is standard in P31. They acknowledge that there is vibration and told me that they did test another C63 with p31 and it was the same. The way dealer explained problem is the dual clutch gearbox on C63 standard issue ( I think is more engine issue does it on every gear and can fill small vibration in neutral). Told me that dealer will not be able to fix it. any one out there with 012 C63 P31 can run a test on there vehicle and let us know if they fill vibration. Best detected drive in manual on 7th gear at approximately 1400rpm (around 90 to 95 kph) and accelerate around 10% throttle

The tranny is not a dual clutch but that doesn't really matter in this case. I have a P31 car and have never experienced any vibration like you describe. I don't believe it is a common problem regardless of what the dealer is telling you.

Nope it isn't. It's the MCT auto. It is a really good automatic. A true dual clutch it is not... no matter what the dealer says (the sales guys are often misinformed and even some of the techs don't understand the difference). It is well documented and well known. The nomenclature of "MCT" did and does cause some confusion but it is a traditional auto with a wet startup clutch... still an auto though.

No wonder your car is vibrating....it's telling you to drive faster. The tranny is struggling to push the car forward in 7th at 90kph.
The best way to eliminate that vibration is to stop driving around in 7th gear at 90 kph! 7th is an overdrive gear and you're not even at highway speeds....I doubt the car is even turning 1400 RPM @ 90 kph

I haven't fixed mine yet, I am overseas currently and will deal with it next week when I get back. As per callmiros comment, I wonder if you are aware what gear will you be if you drive in highway in traffic on conford mode where maximum speed you can drive around 90 to 100kph due to traffic flow. as for how I drive the car? Just so you know booked on track on 28th against porsche, galardo, and few other cars. This will be second time on track since I bought the car in late November. I expect this motor not to last more than 18 months and will go for major upgrade. The fact MB designed the car to drive this way there for should fix it.

You're driving around in 7th at 90kph?

2011 C63 AMG
I hear a swooshing sound coming from the front wheels when I am driving on a windy road coasting between 30-40 mph. This is mostly noticeable with the windows down. I don't think it is rubbing from my 19's I inquired with the dealer back when I went in for service A but they obviously said nothing was wrong.
Could it be a faulty power steering pump?
Also I hear a weird noise coming from behind the instrument cluster when I go over bumps and rough roads, i am not sure what it is.
Anyone else have experience with the swooshing sound?

as from my understanding of what you're saying, you never driven the car I comfort mode is that right? You are saying that you can drive on highway or motorway or freeway for 10 or 20 km distance in traffic where really even if you want to go fast you can't because of traffic flow at 90 to 100kph and you will still drive in 4th gear? If so you would have to be special driver and even formula one driver would be jealous of the way you handle the car.

Except for the grill the C63 has had zero rattles (it stopped). This report 24K miles , P30 suspension which is exercised every outing up and down a 2 mile series of moutain switchbacks. Seems like this thread is somewhat inflated with the frustrations of the unfortunates who do have rattles and squeaks. Due respect to you all.

Just wanted to chime in, have a 2012 c63 coupe so far:
1. Little rattling noise from the front of the dash (like a little screw rattling when going over bumps) drives me insane, 3 trips to dealership havent resolved it.
2. had to top of oil twice during 6000 miles
3. 6K rear continentals are toast (normal driving)
4. rattling noise from the back, dealer fixed, dash thats holding down the speakers was loose.

I have a 2008 Sedan that I picked up used with 46k miles and it currently has 54k (give or take a few hundred) and I have no issues or complaints what-so-ever (knock on wood).
I guess I might have to pay closer attention, but the contrast between my AMG and my G35 coupe is like night and day. My G has double the miles of my 63 and is lowered (significantly to where it might be flame worthy on this forum. Spare me ). I hear clicks, ticks, bumps, scrapes, rubs, and squeaks on a regular basis, so when I hop into the 63 it's like a promised land of solitude and peace.

Anyone here have a diagram showing how to gain access to the rear deck on the coupe? I tried but couldn't figure it out. The brake light rattle has gone on long enough and i don't trust my dealer.

hey guys,
Car is always at the MB dealer shop. I keep getting this code P0221. So they replaced the throttle pedal. Did tranny service. But everytime I down shift car only goes up to 4000 rpm wont shift. CEL come back again and same code. I restart my car car runs fine but CEL still there. After few miles comes off. My car is stock non P31. Any idea whats the problem? thanks

Driven my C63 for around 13,000 HARD KM...I mean hard..I beat the crap out of it whenever I can...only issue I had was a intake manifold and that was screwed up before I even bought the car they just didn't fix it.
Besides tires and gas...it's a dream

I've replaced 6 sensors this year already. I don't know whats going on with my car. It's an 09 with 35k miles. Last sensor had to replaced from bad gas. Car kept going into limp mode and a rattling noise from the exhaust!

No tune... Bone stock. I replaced the 02 sensors. Cleaned the MAF sensors, OEM filters. Car has 39,7++ miles... Yup only up to 4000 rpm and wont shift and stay on 3rd gear.
