2012 C63 Issues
1. I had a sensor tell me that the driver's side head rest was not latched after washing the car. Funny because the driver's seat has the head rests completely built into the seat. It went away a few hours later.
2. When playing with my engine opening everything up and such, once I started the car a warning came up 'Please check oil level at next refuel!' I checked the oil and everything seems fine. I reopened and closed everything and the warning came off. Maybe a loose cap?
3. I can drive with the parking brake on. Is this normal?! My brother parked the car for me one time and put the parking brake on. I didn't notice as I put the car in reverse and backed out. When I put it in drive I looked up and noticed.
4. I can put the car into drive or reverse then start the car and continue on. Is this normal?! I get the red warming shift to park but I can still turn the car on and everything. The warning even goes away after.
5. My tires are gone in 7500kms but that another thread (https://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w...e-monster.html)
Any comments?? Maybe all of these are common for previous years owners as well.
#1 Rattle on driver's side. Panel taken off, a screw wasn't completely tightened and the washer was rattling. Solved.
#2 Check engine light came on (had about 600 miles) and car was running very rough. Had to pull over on freeway, restarted car and roughness went away though light stayed on. Lost cylinders 5-8 according error code. Hasn't happened since.
Yeah, 2k miles and already ordered new tires. Michelin PSS's.

Your #2 is weird. Glad to see it hasn't happened since.

Im at roughly 8000km. The warning came on last night again. I opened the oil cap again and closed it. The warning went off. I will put some oil in on the weekend just to be safe. Do I just put synthetic? I haven't looked into it yet.
Im planning on getting PSS's too next spring. probably 265 (275 if they don't rub). What size did you order? Let me know how they are, Ive read a bit on them they're expensive but seem worth it.

I double checked with Autoscope here in Dallas and Steve, the GM, has an 09 c63 and he said there won't be an issue at all.

The reviews of the tire are pretty incredible, gotta say I haven't been this excited about a tire since the first time I ordered PS Cups for my e46 m3 way back when...
Oh, I have already had an all day track day on the OEM tires, which is why I needed new tires already. Really ate up the passenger side front, lot of left hand turns and all the weight being transferred to the tire and, well, it's not exactly a light car.

I believe the light triggers when you are a quart/quart and a half low. It won't stay on, it just comes on to remind you every now and then, so the gas cap stuff and turn on/turn off to see if it "goes away" is irrelevant.
1. never had that happen before.
2. this car drinks oil. usually between 7k-9k from your last oil change, this message will likely come up. i take my car to the dealer to get it topped off for free
3. after driving a few feet, the dash should give you a big message informing you that your parking brake is still on.
4. i have keyless go as well, and i haven't been able to do this before. i have to start the car in order to move it into neutral or anything beyond park.
5. no comment... lol

I was having a conversation at the local dealership with an old, crusty MB SA. I related the prospect of Yokos becoming OEM tires and he laughed at me and said European makers would never use Japanese tires.

Took in to the dealer, they gave me back the car stating that the rattle is gone now that they've lined the seatback with felt. Of course, the rattle is still there, however, if I position the seat to its lowest setting, it goes away. I see absolutely nothing loose under there and cannot for the life of me figure this one out.

. When picked up the car, the dealer asked how many sets of tires they should preorder for me!
