Hello guys I am new to the forum but I have been browsing around here for a while. I am hoping you may be able to help me out here.
I am looking to purchase a 2012 c63 with about 120k miles. VIN# WDDGF7HB0CA686699
I am trying to determine if this is the P30, P31, or the Development package. And if any of these packages have the anti-friction coated lifters that are in M159. The cam wear issue is a concern of mine.
I have attached the decoded VIN. It doesn't appear to have the LSD as code 471 is missing but as far as the package goes I'm a little confused on what this car has and the differences between the packages.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know there have been numerous lifter updates for the M156 but none of them are the coated 159 lifters.
The black series lifters are coated and a lot dearer in price to standard lifters.

Attached find the 2012 Dealer Order Guide (DOG). It details all the various option packages. In there you will see the P31 info. If the Datacard shows P30 like yours, you have the P31. No idea why they never updated from P30 to P31 in the database. No idea about the friction reducing bits. Hopefully someone can chime in to answer. And no, this car does not have LSD.

Thank you so much for the info. According to your attachment it appears this car does have the "P31 - AMG Development Package". I thought there was a difference between the P31 pkg and the Dev pkg. Here I read the Development pkg has a revised crankshaft, ECU and rotating assembly parts.

C 63 AMG Performance Package Plus (2008–2010 : P30) (2011-2015: P31 +30 hp)[edit]
In 2009, Mercedes-AMG introduced the Performance Package Plus for the C 63 AMG saloon and estate models. In 2011, this package included increasing power to 487 PS (358 kW; 480 hp) at 6,800 rpm and 600 N⋅m (443 lb⋅ft) of torque at 5,000 rpm, compound brake discs on the front axle and red or yellow painted brake callipers, composite brake discs connected aluminium bowl via cast-in arms, carbon fibre lip spoiler on the boot lid (saloon), AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather with a grip area trimmed in Alcantara. The package went on sale in December 2009. Optional black designo leather, covering the upper section of the dashboard, the upper door trim and the armrest on the centre console, was available in conjunction with Nappa leather appointments as an option
AMG P31 Development Package (2011–2015)[edit]
In 2010, Mercedes-AMG introduced a new AMG P31 Development Package which included a power increase to 487 PS (358 kW; 480 hp) as compared to 457 PS (336 kW; 451 hp) for the standard model. Top speed was also increased to 280 km/h (174 mph) as a result. When equipped with this package, the C 63 AMG has a revised ECU and crankshaft, as well as rotating assembly components from M159 engine found in the SLS AMGIt does have the four codes but no mention of revised crank and ECU.

So I guess my question is: Does this car have the revised ECU, crank, and rotating assembly parts from the M159?
