Anyone have a DIY or instructions for removing MAF's? I'm having trouble figuring out how to disconnect the electrical connection (don't want to break it) and also remove the two steel clips that hold the MAF's in place.

Why are u removing them? I remember they are hard to get out. I have to force it with a small screw driver.

Id just leave them alone, unless they needed to be cleaned...But your car is brand new.

I've been getting a hesitation/misfire but no CEL and I've got K&N's so thought I would clean them. I just removed the airbox lid, left the MAF's mounted and sprayed them with CRC MAF cleaner. I'll see if this helps.
FYI - car doesn't throw a CEL so my dealer has no idea what to do. Car hestitates when cold.

Lol its so funny, they can't fix anything unless the computer tells them what is wrong.. I guess that's what we get for relying on electronics to control everything...
I have heard of the oil from the K&Ns coating the MAFs. Did cleaning them fix it?
Have you checked your plugs?

Diagnostics came up clean at the dealer so they have no clue what to do or where to look now. They are waiting for direction from MB!
I cleaned the MAF's and it didn't fix the problem. Only happens when the engine is cold - maybe I should check plugs next but I've only got 2800 miles on the car. Maybe 02 sensors?

Surely that is a warranty issue and the dealer has to fix it by law.

Misfires/hesitations, check the plugs, turn the car on let it run till it misfires then turn it off. Pull the plugs and check them out.

Sure, it is covered by warranty and it's going back to the dealer on Monday but they don't see any CEL's so they are not sure what to do or where to look. My SA said they do not have a clear idea of what to do next..My dealer has been good prior to this but they aren't exactly falling over themselves to try to fix this. I agree it's not a serious problem but it is very annoying.

Did u remove your charcoal filters, if so just for kicks and giggles put them back in with ur kn filters and see is the hesitation is gone... We have seen this a few times with the charcoals removed.

I always wipe down the K&N filters. Not until they are dry but to get a good amount of excess off.

easy to remove....
1)Take off the silver cover on the top.
2) Remove the 2 screw holding it in
3) Jiggle and pull them out.
4) To clean them use sensor safe MAF cleaner.
5) Air dry COMPLETELY
6) replace
NOTE: remember which way they go in/face and which one was for which side.
Hope that helps

Previous owner removed the charcoals and put K&N's in. Probably worth a try to put charcoals back in but why would the hesitation only happen when the engine is cold? Runs fine when the engine is up to temp.

I took the K&N's out yesterday and wiped any excess oil off them and cleaned the MAF's - didn't fix the problem unfortunately.
