H&R Springs, to get the 17mm spring pad or no
just ordered the H&R springs, debating if i should just reusing the stock rear spring pads or get the thicker ones to get a more even drop.
Does anyone have pics of the H&R springs drop with and without the new spring pads?

They don't produce an additional drop, rather raise the rear up a tad to produce a more even looking drop from what i've read.

If you use the stock pads the car with have a level drop. The issue is that the fender well is at different hieghts so the car will look like the rear is slammed. Trust me I went thru the HR springs and ended up with coil overs in the end only to finally trouble shoot the odd "clunk " every one gets which by the way is fixed with a $.25 washer. Get the thicker pad 12-17 so the car looks even.

Yep, im using the thicker pads cuz i didnt like to see the car higher in the front. Now the drop is even. Plus it saved me from rubbing since i have aggressive offset wheels with 275 tires in the back. The pads are so cheap at the dealership (20$) for a pair.

The 1st pic really doesn't do the rear drop much justice since there a lot of shade in the pic. As you can see the 2nd pic the car looks even. Also as the car rolls these cars tend to drop a bit. My 0.2 is go with the thicker 17 mm pads.

Nice move, I got my springs from them as well. Excellent service! As for the stock pads, it won't settle that much so u will be fine. Love the look & the ride is as good as stock, just a bit lower.

Alignment?
Did those of you with H&Rs installed get an alignment right away? I only have 3k miles on the car but will get the alignment if it will extend the life of these tires.

I didnt do my alignment yet, and it's been almost a year now since the install. But my car doesnt pull left or right so I'm not worry at this point.

Is this what you mean by the rear looking "slammed"? Sounds like the stock pads were re-used in this thread.
I am considering using H&R sport springs, but I don't want the rear to look any less aggressive that it already does.

Coilover and spring pad don't fit together
So I got HR coilovers installed and bought the bigger spring pad from mb dealer. Picked up the car and my mechanic who had done many installs and work on all my cars shows me it doesn't fit together. The spring pad has an inner diameter that doesn't fit with the metal adjustment screw collar at top of coil over, so he just used the newer pad and left off the adjustment screw collar at the top. Thread after thread says use the pad with the coil overs, but how? They do not fit into each other? Car doesn't look bad but rear is tucjed under fender about quarter inch and front is about right at tire..??

I thought the spring pads were for spring installs, not coilover installs. Someone correct me if I am wrong

Jasonoff, thanks for the pic. Now that I can see it, that makes sense. The springs look like they would still need a pad at the top. I think the 17mm ones wouldn't be needed since you can just adjust the ride height.

You can't use springs pads with the rear springs in a coilover set. The rear springs come with adjustable collars that sit on top of the springs and mount to the cup on the body of the car and the rear spring pads are removed all together.
OP get the idiot who did your install to reinstall the adjustable collars on top of the rear springs and properly adjust the rear to the height of the coilovers on the front of the car.
