2012 C63 sport plus?
Hi everyone my car hasn't reached the drive in period, so I would like to know from the 2012 owners. Does the sport and sport plus choice make a big difference? When turned on. Thanks

Use during run in.. Just stay under 4,500 rpm
Enjoy

It makes a difference but it won't hurt the car if you put it in S+ when the temp is above 80 (metric) I had it in S+ halfway through the break in and my car is great! the sound from the revs in this mode is ridiculous!

The manual says to keep the car in C mode for the first 1600 some odd kms. The motor is broken in at the AMG factory. But you need to break in the LSD and Transmission properly.... No. Wheel spin and avoid heavy tranny kick downs.

I am sick of running in, I live close to work so it is taking ages to get to 1500 kms. I am going to go on a drive to do 1000 kms next week. I find when I stop at the lights all sorts of idiots want to race me in things like, corollas, civics and Mazda 3's. I had a civic towing a trailer take off like a mad man last week just to show me how fast his car can go. They have no idea of the performance of these things. So funny really.

I think you might have civic towing the trailer even keeping the revs down

ps. Why not just drive it how you want.... If you have over 600kms Ill tell you you aren't doing anything to improve the break in. You want to change up the driving style so the transmission and diff get worked in. This means kicking it down with traction on in sport and off... as well as in all modes. Put it in M and have some fun.

I don't even waste my time with these cars. You shouldn't either. What I do instead is turn the traction off and floor it through the turns! Lets see if they can rip it as hard as you around a corner.... oh wait they will pull the e-brake and their back end will kick out slightly... you'll get 'em every time! Way more fun than barely pressing the pedal, to get ahead of them.

And yes, everyone seems to think I want to race them when stopped at a light. I had an old early 90's Accord with a big grapefruit fart can rev at me and take off at a light. Another time, I was turning onto a ramp to get on the highway from a light and the Civic next to me kept creeping up waiting for the light to turn green. When it did, he pretty much floored it around the turn and down the ramp trying to get ahead of me, but even in C and keeping my revs below 4k, he couldn't keep up. I don't even know why they try. Wonder if they go onto their car forums and post about how they got a C63 kill in their 1996 Honda Civic LX!!! BAHHHHH....
I try to stay within the guidelines (<140km/h, <4,500RPM, no heavy kick downs), but I do cycle between C, S, and S+ and take her up to 4,000RPM once in a while just to give it some range instead of going less than 2,000RPM everywhere in the city in C.
