I am probably a little biased since I own an M5 but I plan on putting an M6 coupe in my garage in 2-3 years. I love the look, especially the interior. Ideally I will keep my M5 since it is a manual and get the M6 with the DCT, should be a spectacular car..... But to each his own!

I actually think it looks great... best looking 6 series car yet.
I think BMW is/will be developing some very appealing M cars. I personally (despite the naysayers) believe the next M3 will be a major improvement and a new benchmark even with a turbo engine. I hope MB keeps up. If the new C looks like some of the spy photos I've seen it won't be able to compete looks wise with the next M3... let's hope it does as I love the C63 today and hope the next gen is as competitive looks/performance wise with the M3 or even better.

If I had to say what I felt right now, it would be that I don't feel it at all...
That being said, I will reserve final judgement for the day that I see one in person.
I have to say though, the interior (if I remember correctly), is exactly the same as the previous version, apart from the steering wheel.

With all due respect, this car is nothing like a 1M or M3 performance-wise. This car will not handle as well due to weight but, like the M5, will absolutely obliterate both of them (and your C63) in a straight line. 0-60 time is of little relevance unless one races from stoplights (with AWD it would likely be in the 3s, but that's of course a moot point) as accelerating to pass at highway speeds or out of trouble is what most owners will realize on a daily basis.
I also think that mileage is very important and applaud this engine and MB's new 5.5TT for the mpg they can achieve. These cars are daily drivers not track specials and covering 35,000 per year that's a fair chunk of money plus the convenience factor of not having to stop every 250 miles.
However, on the point of mileage and styling I will agree that is all personal preference but I had to say something about the performance comment....![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

As for the looks of the M6, I think it looks great. I love the stock wheel and tire sizes, and there are options for even fatter tires. I would love to be able to afford one!

I have to admit; not being a bmw guy, that I like this car.
I like the roof lines as well as the side vents......kind of
reminds me of the 600 series, which have always been my favorite bmw model![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
thanx for sharing.......probably wouldn't see this otherwise as I don't venture to far from my preferred sites, lol

Not sure why you guys think the current M-6 dominates a C63 and why a mile run would not be like the real world.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
I agree that a standard C63 without the P31 will be edged by the M but I believe (with actual mile run same day data and actual races with an M convertible) that a tuned or P31 has same performance or slight edge over an M-6 (0-60, 60-120, and top end). Forget about being obliterated.
A standard C63 P-31 has been tested at less than 4 seconds 0-60 so this clearly shows the edge to the C
here's one of the many links

Now this new M-6 will pull back much harder on the higher end since they quote 12.6 to 200kmh whereas the C does it in mid 13s (same as current M6) so that is a serious whooping.

I would rather have a black series than this new M.

Poor choice of words here. There is no "obliteration" taking place, period. Whether from 0-60, or 80-130, straight line or passing. Real world driving? No way is the C63 "obliterated". Top end? The V10 rules, I don't know about the V8.

Using Car and Driver's testers they trapped 116 mph in the C63 and 122 mph in the latest M5. 6 mph trap differential is massive, though to be clear the C63 is a fast car in it's own right and I'm sure examples of both can be made to go faster (pp etc) as you guys mention.

My humble opinion is that cars not all about the 0-60 times, for me it is the way it brings you there....does it make you smile or giggle with the sound it is making, are other people taking notice because the big V8 is making a very distinctive sound, and of course the seat of the pants feel....as far as I have read so far about this new V8 that BMW has produced for the new M5 and M6, the only feel you get is the seat of the pants....the car has no character and it is numb feeling, the engine note is disgusting and BMW should give walking papers to the engineers who were in charge of sound the car makes...check it out on some youtube clips, the sound is putrid.

I checked my numbers with the C&D review and was off a little... 120mph trap... and edited my post that you quoted for the correct numbers.

My M6 is a coupe (3900 lbs.) ... the convertible M6 is a true piggy at 4400 lbs ... big difference ... plus the f'd up aero with the soft top and you have an underachiever
![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)
The new M6 doesn't pull much harder on the "higher end", it just has way more torque below. Your data is 200 km/h, which is about 120 mph. The V10 doesn't come alive until 5500 rpm ... there is the real difference between the new and the old.

The previous 6 (whether M or not) was an abomination. The fat, ugly flat-topped butt, and droopy nose were simply awful. And the undisguised sheet metal gap across the front of the hood was as clumsy as any Pontiac. I always considered it justified speeding in my Porsche to blow past them so I didn't have to look at that ugly butt.
The new iteration is much improved. The design actually flows together, instead of looking like a different committee designed each quarter of the car. Now if they could just go back to the waterfall hood that dropped seamlessly to the front bumper--supposedly dropped in the Bangle era as a cost cutting measure.

2012 C63 Coupe P31
Not to go against the grain ( I love my C63 Coupe
) but I've always had a soft spot for the 6 series BMW's. I think they are the best looking out of the bunch , although the new M1 is sporty looking.. if a bit small. If I was in the market for a larger size sport coupe I would take this new M6 in a heart beat. It's all personal preference. Top end/ 0-60 etc wouldn't really be a concern for me , if I was buying a car this size it obviously wouldn't be for track or race use anyway. I like the new roof and the lines, but I do agree the colour orange wouldn't be my choice for it... Black or white, something a little more classic and less racer...since IMO its not a race oriented car, but just a larger sports oriented coupe.

I agree. I had a 550iX (4.4 T/T) with a Dinan stage 2 tune (501HP, 580 ft/lbs) and it was fast but the sound was really dissappointing. I know the M's sound better but nothing compared to our 63's.
