Quote: Correct and correct. Also, just like you shouldn't grocery shop on an empty stomach, the same is true for wheels. In other words, I was dead set on getting new wheels but in 18s, but when I didn't like what was available in that size, I was already in the mode to buy some new wheels. Hence, I went shopping for wheels on an empty stomach, ready and eager to consume. But I don't regret it one bit.
Total agree with the wheel theory and hunger

Im going on set 12 with HRE--- build just submitted two days ago!

Quote: Going to look great! I like that HRE has new cap offerings, but I think the etched aluminum caps would have worked better on your car. The CF caps don't really flow well.

Either way It will look sick, and glad you kept the 19".

-Walter
At the shop now getting them installed and in person, they flow great. But I can definitely see where you're coming from.

Quote: Sorry...I wasn't knocking your new purchase. I was just curious about what led you to that wheel setup.
No worries. Sometimes that thought has occured to me as well, why did I make the switch. But I didn't do it just to do it...I have been a fan of the C97's for a long while and so this was more of a fullfillment of an earlier idea I had.

The wheels look great in person. I forgot to ask, did it make a drastic difference in the ride over the pavement?

Pert, whats the weight savings over your monoblock HRE's?
Feel any difference with the unsprung weight?

I think 10lbs overall, 6 in the rear and 4 in the front. The car feels a little quicker, but for all I know that's the placebo effect of thinking it makes a difference. But regardless, I love these bad boys.

Some but not much considering I stuck with 19s. The car does feel a like it has more of a spring in its step. Thanks for the compliment, that red Porsche of yours is bad *** and brought back some nice nostalgia!

Your car looks phenomenal! Your wheel choice is similar to the look I am going for with my Volk TE37 Tokyo Time Attacks. I hope mine turns out at nice as yours!

I see he already replied below, you have to remember a 19" step-lip uses an 18" center, so the weight savings is pretty dramatic.
