Doh! I didn't get down and look that close. I was just looking and thinking they looked damn good.

Thanks for the comments on the 930. I think its pretty nice. The wife thinks it has to get sold. I see a battle coming.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
Wheels are beautiful and are certainly a work of metal art.

However, due to their design, once mounted and put on a car they appear much smaller than they really are. Especially in the side profile shot the centers do not look much bigger than 17".

Great observation (sarcasm) because the center part of the rim is only 18"

I know centers are 18". The reason the do look 17" is due to additional lip (on top/inside of the step lip) with rivets.

everything is tastefully modded!
very detail oriented!

but for stepped lip rims, going a size up would indeed look better due to the smaller centers. Of course your everyday ride would be much rougher, so taking everything into account I believe you made the right choice!

Nice!

Thanks for the compliment, but I have to disagree with you on the comment about a larger size would look better on my car (or any c63). I think for smaller cars, sometimes rims that edge on the smaller size look sportier and more aggressive. I think when you get into bigger sedans/coupes like the E, CL, SL, you need to have wheels that properly match up with the body of the car so bigger in my opinion bigger might look better. But even with my previous set, I sometimes felt that the wheels (monoblock p47) looked too big, but when I saw my version of wheels on an Aston Martin prior to my purchase, i thought they looked to small and was worried.

That isn't to say I didn't have some trepidation with my wheels and how they would look. But a great example, look at Vic's E63 on he c97s. His car is considerably bigger looking than mine, but with just 20s, his car looks sleek, aggressive and just overall badass. Even if they made them, I don't think 21"s would have looked better on his car.

Basically, I'm just glad mbworld is around for me to jack other people's styles and use their cars as inspiration for my own mods.

That Porsche was just gorgeous. I can't wait to see what other purchases are down the road for you. We may have had our differences in the past, but I can say you are truly a mensch. Never did my dad ever throw me the keys to his targa, m6, m5 or any other performance car he ever owned. Keep updated on what's down the road for you and the rides, especially to that little c-class with a couple mods here and there.
