Question Anyone Come From BMW to Merc and never looked back? Pictures inside...

and either been happy or unhappy?

I almost pulled the trigger on a 2010 C63 sedan, and I began to remember that I have been with BMW for almost 20 years.

I was again thinking about the 2010 DCT M3, 4 dr with the new I-Drive, and I just don't know.

I really can't get enough seat time to really know if I will like the C63 on every road, and every situation.

I was happy with the E39 M5, but the old V-10 sucked with that Damn SMG-3.

The New M5 is really too complicated, and is not a pure driver like the 1M.

I like the DCT of the newer vehicles, but the size of the Newer M3 is kinda small. i like the styling of the E39 M5 but I'm tired of shifting...lol

What to do...?

For a real Kick-in-de-pantZ, i also stated thinking about the IS F

Good gas mileage, 16-23mpg Well mannered, lots of power, comfortable, accurate. The newer models are way better designed than previous. The least problematic of all vehicles.

Lexus 86 prob's per 100 Vehicles.

BMW 142 prob's per 100 Vehicles.

Mercedes 128 prob's per 100 Vehicles.

ISF is out of the question. Personally, it's a tough choice between the E90 and C63. I'm not sure if I'll ever know which one I like better.

The 6.2 AMG engine is one of the best...ever! I feel the C63 is more suited to being a daily driver than the M3.

2012 C63 AMG
It is a tough decision between the M3 and C63. But I would definitely not consider the IS F. I was very disappointed in the vehicle when I went to look at it myself. It costs more, the interior looked cheap and dated especially with their coloured carbon trim. Honestly, when I sat in the drivers seat, it felt like I was in a suped up Toyota (which it really is).

Seriously though they are both great cars. I have the manual in my M5 and love it. The C63 is my wife's DD so I only get to drive it on the weekends.

I love BMW's but I really like the C63 too. It's a tough choice. They are both great cars for different reasons too. Honestly I'm glad I don't have to choose, it would be a really hard decision. I can't imagine being unhappy with either though. If I were you I would stay away from the ISF. I have heard and read that it's not the drivers car that the C63 or the M5 is, that's a deal breaker for me.... I love to drive so I have to know what the car is doing at all times.

Good luck with your decision!

I just went from a 540i to two AMG's. No regrets. Does that count?

I did have a 2001 M3, and a 2001 CLK55. Both great in their own rights. In that gen, the M3 was the better car.

Now, only reason to consider the M3 over the C63 is it comes with a manual. But if you are looking for a matic, C63 all the way.

home the point
ISF is fugly in real life IMO, but if you don't mind it you can't really go wrong with any of those. Each have their respective pros and cons. If you are all that concerned about MPG and cost of ownership, then go with the Lexus. I have to agree that it's more practical than the BMW or the Benz.

I would take C63 everyday of the week, i think it looks a lot better. And, the 6.2 Engine, well. Thats the selling point for me. The sound of the beast, the looks, the interior quality etc

That ISF is a looker and according to some, it is picking up ground.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/..._f_first_test/

If people can ignore the hype, forget what other people tell them about what's the best, and objectively decide to buy what they like the most, there is no reason not to consider a ISF. When lap times are within seconds, skidpad and 0-60 times differ by hundredths, and prices are similar, I think it is incumbent on the buy to test them all.

My brother in law went from BMW to Lexus (330i to IS350), my uncle went from BMW to Infiniti (528 to M35x) and I am looking to go from Lexus to Merc....it should be what you want and like, not what you're told/what you read...

There may be utility related to owning a german vehicle, but it's a personal thing.

Lexus doesn't have Sirius though...so if you're a Stern/NFL guy that might be a deal breaker. It is for me.

I went from a ML430 (crushed by a falling tree) to a BMW X5. It was a horrible decision. The BMW handled better but that was the only positive between the two. After just a couple of years the BMW interior looked three times its age - did not hold up nearly as well as the MB. The transmission programming also sucked *****. This was not unique to the X5. The 330 also had ****ty transmission programming.

Hell even the wife complained about the X5 vs. the ML430.

2012 C63 coupe
I went from two back to back E92 M3s to the C63 coupe. Both are amazing cars and you can NOT make a bad decision. Having said that, I am very happy with the C63. It is a much more fun daily driver with the power and sound compared to my two M3s. I still believe the M3 would be a slightly better car if you track seriously but this isn't to say the C63 isn't very good but it is a slight step behind for this purpose IMO... but only very slightly behind.

Knowing both cars well, I would still pick the C63. If the C63 had a real dual clutch tranny then it would be no comparison at all in favour of the C63.

I have never liked the IS-F but that is personal opinion based on style of the car.

AMG GLC63. Audi R8
My last BMW was a 97 M-3 4 door which was the best handling car I've ever owned. It got totalled by some SUV driving too fast in the rain. Since my new GF at the time (now wife) couldn't drive a stick (doesn't drink either so she's the perfect designated driver), and I wouldn't dream of getting a M-3 without one, I picked up a C43. The V-8 was the big draw. Since that it's been a C55 and now a C63. Guess I'm not going back.

M3 - C63 blk/blk ordered
I am trading out my '10 E90 M3 for a '12 C63. I have had 2 prior E46 M3's with a RS4 between. I agree with the track comment. I love the maneuverability of the M3, but coming from the RS4 I missed the awesome exhaust note, and torque where no matter which gear your in it pulls like a freight train. Both of which I will get back with the C63.

I came from 335i to C63, I think even the 335i has better driving feel and sharper turns. But the 6.3L AMG growl will make you drool every time you step on that paddle. The monster acceleration you get is also overwhelming. I'd say go for the AMG, fun/sound > performance any day in daily driving.

So what factored into your decision to switch? And do you think you'll move on from the M3 in three years too, or was there something about the c63 that made you want to switch?

Cars.
From a former 10+ year BMW owner and driver, I don't see myself going back anytime soon. I personally don't like the direction BMW is going. That is just me though. From here, I have my sights set on a P-Car.

same. trading my 135 for a C63 and then hopefully I'll be in a position to afford a 991.

e63s edition 1
Other than my old (modified saloon class M5) I use to race, the best handling car was a 400hp 1988 Porsche 944 turbo. scary scary car to drive (no ESP and 2900 pounds) but it stuck to the road like a rat in a sewer pipe I have owned 5 bmw's, ranging from 325is, 333i to 330xi to m3, then switched to a 911 4s then Maserati GTS then Cayenne turbo then Cayenne GTS, and then I made the switch to c63. I actually ordered a new back then M5 and on the way home test drove the c63. canceled the M5 order 1 hour later as I signed the paperwork on the c63. The most balanced car I have ever owned, and I don't mean it in a 50/50 way. When it comes to balancing the senses versus the performance. It hits both on the spot. For me I hope they knock it out of the park with the new 2013's as when I look to get a new one there will be some stiff competition around. Never been a fan of the IS-F. On paper they are great But I did not like the way it drove.

For now all i can say is drive them all.. only you can decide.. get the car that not only mooooves you but also moves you..

I just cannot get over the fake exhaust on the ISF, otherwise, it does have a few advantages, gas mileage for one, and cost of maintenance, it is significantly cheaper since it shares many of it's parts with pedestrian lexus' (Lexii??) and toyotas.

Still, I would pick the one you feel most comfortable driving in.

After many years I went from Mercedes to BMW and after a year of that wanted to go back to Mercedes. IMHO both make cars tend to have very specific market appeals and even when looking at an M3 v. C63.
