Special Thanks To Sparco
I did not know where to post this.
I just thought I needed to mention some great customer service that goes above and beyond. As some of you know I will be running my CLK63 Black Series in the SHIFT S3CTOR Airstrip Attack Top Speed Event out in California this weekend. My car and trailer have spent the winter months out at Weistec in California and my hauler spent the winter down at my place in Dallas and I live in Chicago. As I was packing my bag of safety gear/clothing/Helmet yesterday I realized I could not find my racing gloves, Nomax hood/mask and boots, not knowing if they were in my trailer or hauler or just misplaced and not wanting to risk things I decided I better just order some new stuff(who doesn't like new stuff anyways). I contacted several of the big online retailers of safety gear and none of them could get me what I wanted/needed in my sizes/colors etc. in time for the event and the fact that I am flying out on Wednesday further complicated things since some of them only ship to my billing address. I ended up contacting Sparco direct this morning and explained my dilema. Thankfully they had or found everything I needed in the colors and sizes I needed and they are arranging to have everything drop shipped to Weistec's offices by Thursday.
Great Job, and thanks again to Sparco

Off topic, but curious, what are these guys charging for this event?
Some guy with an Enzo is putting on an event here in AB, Canada, but they want 3k to enter it lol. Supposed to be exotics only I guess.. But I think that price is up there..

LOL $3000???? The SHIFT S3CTOR Airstrip Attack cost $250.00 to register. I'm going to spend more on fuel that I will on registration costs.

Yep, right around 800rwhp but that is actually detuned on fairly low boost until we can see if the new trans is going to handle all the new power. We will be ramping up the power as we go. Weistec installed a larger 2.9L blower over the winter(old one was 2.3L) along with a replacing all engine internals with custom forged parts (no P31 crap) and a whole lot of other goodies. I am heading out to California tonight and I will drive the car tomorrow, put a few more miles on it before the Airstrip event on Saturday.

You now have a 2.9L blower with custom forged internals and pushing near 800rwhp!! That's insane and hopefully she stays together and all goes well as you ramp up the power.

Renntech has a tranny upgrade:
"Our mechanical upgrades provide years of trouble free operation and have been tested to in vehicles producing over 800 hp and 1000 lb/ft of torque."
3800 bucks

Not on a 7speed they haven't. The 800/1000 figures they quote are for the 5speed.

I have already spoken to them about it as I was interested. Those numbers are for the 5speed. For the 7 speed the charge those bucks to blueprint the trans and to put in heavy duty clutches. Call them but I doubt anything has changed.

Trust me, it's not for the 7 speed. Besides how can it be "tested in vehicles making over 800hp" when Renntech has NEVER built a 63 motor that makes anywhere close to 800 hp???? As Earl stated they are talking about the 5 Speed that they run their SLR.
