Since Brembo developed the OEM system, they have all the R&D and testing data for that chassis. With this, Brembo engineers can easily apply that to the development of the aftermarket systems in order to identify where there is still room for improvement for more high performance applications and track use. OEM development is still bound to a more strict criteria for longevity and comfort, whereas Aftermarket development (Gran Turismo) can focus strictly on achieving maximum performance.

Ø Lighter Weight
Ø Increased thermal capacity
Ø Improved temperature management
Ø Superior pedal feel, control, and modulation
Ø Significantly longer pad and rotor life

The truth of it is, if you don't track the car then no reason to buy these. The new black series coupe's however will have a huge reason to upgrade. Better pad choices, longer lasting rotors etc. Especially if you have the ceramic rotors.

Pretty soon they'll be coming out with 18" rotors. No such thing as madness!!

I doubt it's an improvement over the new black, besides you'd need 20s, which will likely upset the handling.

Yeah realistically you can do their 380mm kit with the high thermal disks, that is about as aggressive as you should need.

The 16 inch adds more weight too but still an impressive kit for some that want/need it.
