Quaife LSD
Hey-
I am curious if my "tuner mechanic" is doing me justice. In the name of help, I do not have access to a lift, can some please post some undercarriage shots of what the Quaife looks like installed.
Thanks!

yeah, I guess I have another yestion and/or hopefully some pics.
Anyone have a pic of their OEM diff. I would like to compare it to the one my tuner gave back to me. The one I have has no AMg markings or Mrec for that matter. Just a bunch of numbers and letters. Any pics would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Cool which part do u like the best, I'd here a clunk sometimes when I stopped, figured I'd open the rear. Funny part is it was happening when I drove down to sebring to meet Keith. I'm glad it stayed together for those 2 days abusing it on the track

The main thing is that it is a response what does a quaife diff look like installed in the car. I am not sure most people would know exactly what your picture is. Also the fact that you actually wore a stock diff out. You must have been doing some serious peg leg burn outs or wheel hopping pretty bad to do that. I had a buddy one time that ate his steering wheel when the spider shaft came out going down the highway. Came to work on a tow truck and a fat lip.

Jasonoff-
Thanks for that pic. It has helped. I cannot find any Merc symbols or manufactuer wording on the open, OE diff that I pulled. Was just trying to check my work. OE diff has many numerals inbetween some of the spines, but no other distinguishing marks. Anyone know of a surefire way to determoine an OE C63 AMG open diff??
Thanks again.

I have mine in a box at home, when I get a chance I'll take a look for markings. I would guess though that the open diffs are a standard part they buy from an OEM manufacturer and not marked as MB or AMG.

Thanks. And I was assuming the same thing, that they are a "standard" open diff manufactured by a third party for MB. As stated, mine just has some lettering, numerals, and some wording on the outer ring, in between the splines.

There's really nothing to see. You have your quaife installed. Your mechanic didn't pull a fast one and you got an excellent price on the labor.
It's quite a bit of work to swap these out...

You got a good price. I had the OS Giken put in mine and paid $2700 for the part and free install as a good will gesture since the first attempt didn't go well due one of the axle openings being manufactured too small.
