I've owned an e46 and have driven multiple amg cars. Traction control off. It's no joke. The amg cars are harder to control due to power. M cars are easier to manipulate. No offense m3 guys. But you are in a hornets nest

Nope, this is not true. Some x6m boost up to 700hp which has the same motro with the new m5. But also on the new 5.5 TT amg, simply tune and exhaust can make it a beast

Everyone should just stop responding to TheM3Guy and TryyM3. By responding, they are getting EXACTLY what they want. They haven't even driven the C63 in any meaningful way (well, they may "claim" to have) and have no basis for a comparison other than fanboy fueled hype. They are just trying to get people upset and are being successful.

This thread sucks, honestly. Coming from someone who has owned an E36, E46, C55, C63, and passed on the E92...
- FACT. The AMG's torque makes them MUCH more suitable for daily driving. For me, the C63 is the most fun car I've ever owned.
- FACT. The stock 2008 C63 is faster than the stock 2008 M3 in a straight line. Same goes for 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.
- FACT. M3's deliver a much better "feel" of the road than the C63 or C55. There is just a connection there with the BMW that doesnt exist with the AMG. This isnt necessarily "handling", its just a feel, but BMW has this DOWN.
- FACT. The C63 can still outhandle most cars on the road and for 99.9999% of the drivers out there, you won't be able to find this cars limits intelligently.
- FACT. MANY folks in the M3 community are flat out *******s. I'll never forget going to my one and only M3 meet and hearing them all make fun of every car that drove by, making "my cars got vtec!" jokes, comparing the tint on their smoked headlamps and drooling over gutted racecars they know nothing mechanically/technically about. They think their stock E46's are race cars and the greatest thing on the road (generalization)

the thing with M is that for some reason, they dont like throwing in hundreds of more horsepower in the new gen cars. sadly, the next m3 is probably going to have around 500 hp and when amg throws in this biturbo engine in the next c63, itll 'destroy' it. something about M cars cant be compared with AMGs though. from the buttons that determine shift speed to throttle response to the differential and overall driving feel...unlike an amg where you can just floor it and be the worst driver imaginable and get a sub 12 1/4 mile time, with Ms you need to feel the engine response and actually need to know what youre doing
While I am actually an M convert but still appreciate raw performance from any brand, I never fell for the "Ultimate Driving Machine" hype.
PS: This vid (not mine) is my typical experience with BMW's at track events. Jump to 3:15 Although most M drivers let me pass the car behind them before giving a point.

It's probably due to the fact that their car isn't all that in daily driving. At up to 90% of the limits, there are far better cars out there. It's probably their way of justifying their purchases. The other factor could be that most of those M3 drivers out there just moved up from EVO's and STI's. Feels that there is somethig to prove.
I personally do not believe that is true but however, it tends to be a growing trend from what I have seen and also lots of BMW owners are Mercedes owners as well. I find that the young BMW owners or even older who are defensive about the car are just people who like to blow smoke and have something to prove. I have seen many times at tracks where a 18 year old has a beautiful M3 or M5 and his previous car was say a modded Civic. Having just stepped up his game he has to prove to eveyone he is not some boy ricer. Therefore I think this where people get the idea that BMW drivers tend to be ricers with money or just have large ego's.

This is the main reason I ended up with c63 than a m3. A reviewer once said that anywhere outside of a race track, m3 drives like a run of the mill 3 series. And from numberous test drives on the streets, I concur that is an accurate assessment. Plus the fact that you have to rev so high to get any kind of drive out of the vehicle means sounding like a douchebag (and catching the attention of LEO in a mile radius) everytime you pull from a green light. Plus as I mentioned in another thread while I love the look of a m3 coupe I think c63 sedan look way better than a m3 sedan (I needed a 4 door car). In the end, m3 is a great track day tool for that ten or less days out of 365 but c63 wins in the practical catagories and is perfect for the rest of the year when you're not on the track.

I agree that m3 coupe looks better than c63 coupe. But c63 sedan still looks better than m3 sedan because c63 was originally designed as a 4-door where as the m3 was originally designed as a 2-door.

Joining the party late but this is my outlook on it. BMW vs. MB will allways have a competitive rivalry. Both side have dbags and fan boys. And there is always a better/faster car
1. 335 vs m3 debate - 335 with tune, exhaust, and suspension can hang with m3 for alot cheaper, but obvious downfalls like reliablity, heatsoak, loud noisy exhaust, hard suspension, and less aggressive stlying. Either is a good choice just what you want at the end.
2. MB vs BMW- I have a 211 E63 and the suspension is SOFT. I will be the first to say the car is a boat and is quick but by no means fast. I was looking at m5's but there as slow(slower) as the e63 but handle slightly better. refined sedans with some power but not a track monster.
3. I personally thing some of the benz owners have some of the worst choices in wheels.
4. Untill the FI motors are tuned its a crapshoot. Once the tuning wars start it will be clearer which is a "better" car and i think BMW will get the majority of love from tuners.

I think You are wrong here. I think that the new amg 5.5 tt engine has a lot of potential in tuning it and making it a monster. Bmw's 4.4 tt is alredy heavily tuned from the M division and would say that amg will outpower m cars with this new engine.
