C63 owned by a Ford diesel truck...?!
http://powerstrokearmy.com/forums/sh...ad.php?t=15826
I test drove a C63 recently. I own a 550+ RWHP/1100 RW Torque 4+ ton diesel truck and I couldn't imagine racing a C63 well into the triple-digits...unless I wanted to waste fuel and embarass myself that is.
Comments? With the exception of one other delusional individual, no one's buying it, at all. Wanted to see if it was anyone here or anyone that could help set the record straight with a rematch (regardless of the fact that it's not worth your time!)
And not from a dig, from a roll...did you read the thread from the link?
I don't know if it was that exact model, but I busted a C63 AMG from an interstate roll twice in a row from ~70-80 to ~120-130 with my old dinosaur 7.3 moving 37" tires.
Figured I'd throw that out there, given your traitorous screen name.
It did sound nice though.

This is the quote. I really doubt it!

BTW-Which sub-forum is it in since the link you provided needs registration? I tried searching "C63" and nothing comes up. Didn't find it in the Drag Racing sub-section either.

And you'd know better than someone that doesn't know the difference between a regular C-series and an AMG!
As for Jumpingjim, while some said it would never happen, I maintain my previous statement over at the other forum, given enough money and modification, anything can beat anything else.. Comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges is the only way to make a valid determination, and I doubt there are many diesel trucks in stock form that could beat any AMG, except maybe off the line (some of those machines have monster torque numbers). Of course, if you put that much money into a C63 for mods as you did with the diesels, odds are we would have a monster C63
I can smoke mustangs with my 4runner all day long to around 50-55 in my 4runner, doesn't mean im going to keep going.. and its running on 39.5 iroks and has a 5.7 tundra v8 supercharged in it.
who gives a damn, i'd rather drive a c63, esp when you have to turn.
I've had my *** handed to me in my E55 by a big Ford diesel that pulled me on an entry ramp we were both trying to be first on.
Respect the diesel.
I am not a truck guy, never ever will be. The only thing even close to a truck I'd ever consider would be a Cayenne, that's about it. I also am not an American car guy, although I can appreciate anything that's well done. However, I must say that some of you guys need to read up on what a Powerstroke/Duramax/Cummins is capable of. Insane torque that would make even a freak Speedriven V12 look like a toy, and more power than most C63s are making. They will fly up to at least freeway speeds, maybe 90 or 100, and I can definitely see a C63 being taken down by a heavily modded truck, no doubt about it.
Last year, during the SCCA June Sprints at Road America, I got to flog a buddy's towing truck (a Silverado 3500 long bed, extended cab, dually), and let me tell you...that thing moved like nobody's business. It had a tune on it as well, 1000 lb ft and like 600 hp. The thing flew. I have never driven something that felt like it had such a monstrous amount of power from such low RPMs. Knowing the thing weighed about 84-8600 lbs made it even more impressive. On the highway behind the track, driving into town, I could roll out at about 10 mph, stand on it, and be up around 60 or 70 in seconds. It was unbelievable. I will never own one, and don't want to...but my god it was an impressive vehicle.
