I bought a steering wheel trim recently and i dont know how to install it, i just need to know how to remove the airbag and everything will be fine. i just wanna change the silver part on the steering wheel to carbon fibre, not changing anything else, can anyone tell me how? i couldnt find any screw on the back of the steering wheel.

As I remember you have to pull a screwdriver throw the leather on both sides at the right position. Behind that you will find the fitment to dismount the airbag
The other way is a little bit easier but then you will need a new airbag and a new bumper

I did this about a month ago. There's two indentations on either side of the wheel, you use two torx wrenches to push them in. There are spring clips on both side holding the airbag together. It takes a while to catch, even harder if you are trying not to pierce the rubber. Detail is in the links below. Remember to disconnect the battery when operating on it.

He posted the reason in the OT; to swap the wheel cover for CF part. The airbag system is not nitroglycerin; it won't go off without electrical charge so you don't have to *****foot around it as long as care is taken. Most people hit their horns harder than any accident you might have in the shop.

I am either too stupid to remove the airbag from my 2012 steering wheel or something is wrong with it.
Can anyone chime in and help me out?
I cannot locate the spring clips inside the rubber openings.
EDIT: OK NEVER MIND - I got it. Took me an hour to get the airbag out but now I know how it works.
