How do you remove the airbag from 2012 steering wheel?

Tried installing a 2012 wheel on the car today, but couldn't figure out how to separate the airbag from the wheel. Didn't know whether the airbag is held there with screws like the pre-fl models or not and I didn't want to tear it out. Anyone knows? Thanks.

Awesome. Thanks GTibunny! The pics aren't clear, are you suppose to use the screwdrivers to push in the indentations on the rubber mold (next to the paddle shifters) to release the spring clips? Or insert the screwdrivers in crack between airbag and wheel?

My ex girlfriend did it pretty easily in her SL550

Just run into the back of an Escalade doing about 20 and the airbags pop right out

Finally got it. Terrible system, I ended up puncturing the cover to see the spring clips.

The airbag is the last thing that I would do on my own...such a scary thought to think that it could either go off in your face, sending that screwdriver right at you, or not go off at all when actually necessary.

Def would involve the dealer on that one.

Just my 2 cents, but then again, I tend to be rather conservative when it comes to stuff like that.

I once had a defective airbag replaced in my M5. You should have seen the steel cage it was shipped in and the warning labels around it...no way I'd do it myself either.
