radar detector/ laser jammer in the toronto area

I agree, I have spoken to my police friends, laser is what needs to be beat in Ontario (esp on 401). The laser interceptor is shown installed on a C63 and the sensors appear much more visible than the antilaser G9 (http://www.laser-interceptorcanada.com/715.html). still thinking about it

the laws do vary by province..in Ontario it is NOT illegal to own a radar detector, however it IS illegal to use one...so technically it would not be illegal to drive around with one in your car if it were not plugged in and turned on...we have very crazy laws here, like having NOS with the valve open is illegal per transport of dangerous chemicals but with the valve closed is ok etc. etc.

the source you posted does not make a distinction between USAGE and OWNERSHIP...i just did a quick websearch and found at least 10 websites that phrase it as illegal to USE.

I am just afraid that if you get stopped and cop says that you just used it, it will be his word against yours - one might have hard time proving cop is wrong...

yes i agree..in practice, it is likely that it would get confiscated if found...most people do not want to spend $20,000 in legal fees fighting a technicality to get compensation for a $500-$600 detector.
