Talking New Potential Buyer

First off, I don't deliver pizzas.

Secondly, I want to say hi to everyone here. I have been shopping for a 2008 - 2009 C63 for a bit now and saw this one:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/2932967707.html

I am wondering if you guys think this is a good deal and what would you guys try to negotiate this to? This is the first time I am buying a used car... actually first time buying a European car.

I currently own a 2007 Acura TL heavily modded, and decided not to spend any more money on that thing and just get a fast second car

Thanks for all your help and I hope to join you guys soon!

Oh and also, is there a maintenance and DIY thread here? I like to do my own maintenance if possible on these things.

my wife bananas! :D
no go without keyless go

kidding aside... welcome to the forum. imo the C63 is priced a tad high. It has decent kms with performance pack. you should get him down a couple thousands at least. Since you are looking at Craigslist i will presume you like not too far away from the car... everything hinges on a see it in person deal. My thing is that when you see it or test drive it and anything doesnt feel right, you will need to walk away from it. But you probably already know that, since you sound pretty hands on

There are lots of DIY for maintenance on the board and you can easily search for it. However, it is personal preference but I suggest you get extended warranty if it is still within the 4years or find a 3rd party insurer. Our MBs are very expensive when something needs to be fixed

Good luck!

I just bought a similar car, year and mileage. I would actually say that the seller's price is fair. If the interior is as tidy as the exterior, then I'd say go for it. I doubt you'll get him down to $45k, but it would be worth a shot. I think those cars are generally going around $45k-$55k depending on condition and mileage.

Where are you located? This one is practically right down the highway from me.

Hey there, I am from Walnut Creek. I actually found another one in South Bay...

Higher miles and not so mint condition...

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/cto/2983019654.html

So I am going to schedule with both of them this weekend to see.

Oh what should I pay attention to that are C63 specific when I view the car in person? Also any questions about certain recalls or maintenance work? Thanks again!

I'm also in WC, actually. I'd rather go for the first one. It has much fewer miles and the Performance Package. The 2nd one doesn't. Again, I think the asking price is fair, but there's always room for negotiating

Here's a helpful thread...

Welcome to the forum!
Sounds like a good deal. The AMG development package is a definite plus.

More than one owner and little remaining on warranty = lower offer; otherwise it's priced right but you still want to bid lower. Looks like the warranty will expire this coming August. I just picked up an '09 w/similar miles a couple of weeks ago. Good luck!

(a)'12 C63 P/P, LSD, 19" m/spoke,comfort pack. (b)Astra SRI.
Question

Can't tell much from a colour photo, but it's got some great extras.
Performance package didn't have red calipers in those days?
Cheers, Pickles.

The one in the link is a P30 package which was made between 2009 and early 2010. After early 2010 Mercedes came out with the P31 package (red calipers, forged pistons, increased power, etc...)

Hey Pizzaman!
Just wanted to direct you to an extended warranty company that should be able to cover your vehicle, whichever one you decide upon: Mercury Insurance Group. You can run some quotes yourself at www.extended-vehicle-warranty.com and also download the sample certificates for coverage details.
Let me know if I can be of help!
