Here's a good quote for ya....get the parts and i'll do it for free for you on a sunday afternoon, the only thing it will cost you is a beer.
I'm a tech and i have a 09 C63 and some of these dealers in Toronto are insane. At my shop i would have to charge you like $150 for the install just because it's not my shop (the owner does have to pay bills), but at my house or yours it would be FREE my friend. You'll see and learn how easy it is to do brakes on these cars and the next time you might even try it yourself.

Our standard rate is 80$ for the install (and I do have to pay bills) plus parts. Also, for MBWorld members, we do not mark-up the parts. Last week I had member of this board doing front brakes on his ML350. Parts (pads and rotors !!!) with labor came up to 320$. Beat this !

They seem VERY well priced... But may I ask how come you bought rotors elsewhere? ^
Is this too good to be true?
ROTOR C63 AMG; w/o AMG Performance Pkg.
MSRP Core ? Online Price $170.00 $0.00 $127.50

Also, remember that retailers sell parts for more than that website price, so it gets closer to aftermarket prices. Anyways, my shop's price for break job for C-class would be 140$ rotors + 80$ labor + 100$ pads = 320$ CAD per axle.

This thread has me very concerned! I dont want to touch the brake pedal anymore haha. Im hoping I will be able to change the pads next summer (Roughly 50K kms) and be good for another year or so. These rotor prices are insane!

70$ EACH and these are Aftermarket, not OEM and for vehicles without AMG performance package. My shop has sufficient volume to get wholesale prices for parts and I do not mark them up for members of this board.
The catch is to get them - just called my suppliers and they are all Out of Stock

They did when I installed them 3-4 weeks ago and test drove the car. So far - no complains from the customer and she is welcome to chime-in on this post... Now, if you drive your car really hard and take it to a race track, I would go with OEM

The thing is, they're not even OEM. On a less expensive vehicle (like, my winter beater) I can MAYBE see a reason to save $57 per rotor but on a heavy German sedan, I dont feel the risk is worth it. There ARE horror stories of owners of all makes & models that have been less than satisfied with cheap aftermarket rotors. I still have doubts as to whether or not these $70 rotors are C63 rotors - is it possible that they're for regular C-class?

There are good quality aftermarket (non-OEM) parts out there for the fraction of the price. I just changed front pads and rotors on my own 800HP SL600 with aftermarket parts and quite happy with the outcome. 190$ rotors and 110$ for pads !!!
As for those 70$ rotors, I did say they are aftermarket and I can tell you for sure that those are not for regular C-class, as diameter of C63 rotors is different.
Now, remember that there is first, second and third line of aftermarket parts. Third being made in Ch..a. I never use third line and rarely second line when it comes to brakes and suspension... I am in automotive business since 1991 and learned my lessons by now. (will admit, in some cases the hard way)

Good to know and thanks for informing us of the differing tiers of aftermarket parts. I'm genuinely surprised that there still are aftermarket parts NOT made in China. I just assumed that they all are but with differing levels of QC &/or standards of performance.
If I were in TO, I'd give you my business based on your knowledge & pricing!

This thread has been an eye opener. Thanks for all the info.
My questions:
1) what's the difference between 1 piece and 2 piece? Can you use a 1 piece instead of a 2 piece?
2) what's the difference between rotors/pads for a p30/p31 vs a non p30/p31?
I have a p30 and don't like prices I see for rotors/pads. Everyone here seems to be talking about rotors/pads for non p30/p31s. Could those rotors not be used for the p30/p31 packages?
Thanks
