ECU tuning without cracking it open!!!
#26
You are right , the ECU needs to be cracked first. Thanks for the input.
Congrats EC , keep up the good work ! Its great to see tuners giving their bests on this plateform.

Out of curiosity, what is the actual reasoning behind cracking it open? Is it a physical piece of the ECU that needs to be tampered with/removed? Never looked into it.

Thanks for all the kind words!
The device is $450 plus the cost of the tune. If you have an exisiting EC tune on the car, then you will only have to pay the $450.
I will provide up to 4 tunes at no extra charge. This includes tunes for Race Gas, Nitrous, Pump, V3, BETA V4, Catless, etc.
The ECU had to be opened previously because of encryption, access codes, etc.
The dealer will 100% not be able to tell that the ECU was tuned. :-)
Thanks!

Good job Jerry , one question how many times can the Ecu be uploaded back and forth. I ask this because I known from my Audi days the file gets a little crupt over time and the chip having a limitation of uploads. This would be the perfect option for many.....

Until the motor blows and a MB rep steps in to inspect the cause. The dealer has no power at all. They try to push through warranty stuff but if a rep comes in from MB to inspect the claim and they find the tune or exhaust work your claim will be denied and the dealer will be powerless to do anything about it.

i understand what you are saying but unless you are "tune only" , most people are actually voiding their warranty right this minute . you have to pay to play and if you are that worried , then don't touch a thing on the car

Even tune only runs the risk. Sorry about your motor, that sucks!
Even in a case like this with a flash tuner. If you pop the motor at 6K RPM its going to det pretty hard. If you flash the ECU back to the stock tune and tow the car to the dealer and throw your hands up you can be sure you will be caught. The first thing they care going to look for is the codes that caused the motor to blow. What RPM it went and why.. ect... When they find no codes and they will surely know something has been tampered with.
I dont want to derail... This product is excellent for many reasons...
1. Flashing to stock for regular services at the dealer and not throwing up a red flag.
2. Not cracking the ECU and voiding the warranty from the physical act.
3. Switching between tunes (Pump and Race Gas)
In the event of damage done to the car due to the tune this will not save you. These guys werent born yesterday. The awesome part is they will scratch their head a bit longer due to no sign the ECU was opened.

The memory inside the ECU can be programmed way more than 300 times. In fact, the data inside the ECU changes every single time the vehicle is started.
