What's the next 'step up' after the C63 AMG?
What's the 'next step up' for you? I've been browsing a couple forums and the consensus for BMW M owners is a Porsche 911(Or a step up in the M division). Audi S/RS owners seem to really like BMW's and talk about switching over, and AMG owners tend to either stay with MB and want something higher up in the food chain, or move up to a Lamborghini's and other Super-Cars. I'm not generalizing, just something I've noticed. Opinions? Thoughts? What's next for you?

Coming out of a C63 you're going to want a step up in power and handling. A black series would be a nice step up id you want to stay in the AMG family. M series BMW are very similar to AMG's (with less hp but better handling). A Turbo 997/991 variant or the RS8 seem like good reliable options. Unless you like insane maintenance bills, I'd steer away for the Italian exotics. Unless you like insane depreciation I'd also stay way from the English exotics. Only two Japanese cars that fall in this super car catagory. The GTR, which puts down fabulous performance numbers for the price, but has unusual stying (think fast and furious) and is said to lack "soul" and the Toyota LFA is stupid expensive. The yet to be released NSX is an unknown but does score greenie points with its hybred drive system. As far as American cars go the Corvette Z06 or ZR1 offer massive hp and respectable handling at a very attractive price. The soon to be release Viper is worth a look if they've got the handling undercontrol and upped the build quality.

my wife bananas! :D
wife says, if we continue to have more kids, it'll be time to upgrade the C63 for a caravan
just kidding.
Atm I'm pretty darn content with the C63. Next stop could be either a E63 or the new M5

Current step up would be 997 turbo s, 991 turbo is not coming out for a while, Another direction for those who can accept it's weight and looks is GTR, send it to AMS pefroamnce in Chicago and it really transforms into a fun toy but the total price could be similar if not exceeding 997 turbo s sticker price

CLS63, M5, or E63.
But honestly even then, I dont see another car like the C63 out there. Thats why I got a 2012 after my '09...thought long and hard, drove other cars but there isnt anything as nimble, torquey, agile, attractive, etc at or even near this price range.
911T is a different class of car in my eyes, we're talking sports sedans here.

Depends... do you want to stay with a sports sedan, or move to a sports car?
Sports sedan... E63TT or M5. Or new S6/S8.
Sports car... Porsche GT3 or Turbo. Or Jag XK(R, R-S). Or Aston V8 Vantage. Or GT-R.
Or, if going domestic, there're a ton of solid performance per dollar options.
