Putting a wrap overlay on them was my first idea as well...but if they can just be taken off I would probably go that route.

If you take them off then you'll have a bunch of holes and clips left underneath.

Very easy
-Unplug the rubber cap , just pull
-Use a t20 torx screwdriver, use a 6" length to reach the screw for rear doors.
-loosen the screw but don't remove it from the threading.
-Pull the handle to the open position, and the part that stays on the door can be jiggled and slid forward and out once you have loosened the screw out of it.
- With the smaller piece of the handle out The electronics are easily disconnected by a push tab.
-Once the smaller part of the handle is out, the other piece comes out easily.
-The large chrome comes off with 2 screws and the smaller chrome piece has a release tab.

5 min max.

I removed them to vinyl so there are no visible edges.

Anyone who has wrapped the door handels or painted them does everything work how its supposed to ie keyless entry, keyless go... I noticed tonight taking apart the handles that the top chrome bit has a electrical contact going to it.

WTH I thought these were just stick on, I've got a piece of clear vinyl in my handles to prevent scratches, I was going to add these, now not so sure

Can anyone confirm how to take off the chrome piece from the small non-handle part. I couldn't figure it out and didn't want to force it and brake something.

Bump, can anyone help figure out how to get the small piece loose? Original post said there is a release but not sure which direction it comes loose.

Chrome/SS inserts on the tops of the door handles themselves. On cars with keyless go.

Possibly some confusion in this thread. Chrome door handle inserts are a $90 option on the newer models. In JonMBZ's picture, the insert is the large chrome piece that covers the interior well of the door handle. According to the dealer and some research I've done, they are stuck on with adhesive strips so there is regular paint underneath. I am definitely removing mine and will consider wrapping them in matte vinyl to match the window trim.

Definitely on with two-sided tape...easy to remove. I removed mine and then had a shop paint the chrome top part of the actual handle (that comes with Keyless-Go) in body color for $200. I know it is a small thing, but it made me like my car a lot more.
