200.00/hp doesn't see all that much to get excited about imo.

Adding hp to these cars ismt cheap at all especially after tune and headers

It would seem that way LOL. Sooo after tunes, exhaust and cams you're laying down what?
I'm just trying to wrap my head around the dollar figure. I have a little more then that in my garage sitting on the counter waiting to go in my truck and I will be at just over 700whp and 14-1500 trq. Burn clean as a whistle and no louder then stock.

Too cool! That sounds great. I'm sure many people would not expect a C63 to sound like that.

Of topic, but what do you guys see from switching to race gas tune from reg tune? ET and mph.
My mph dropped 0.5 and ET went up 0.2 seconds.

I went to the track last night and on pump gas I lost 0.2 seconds. My mph slowed down 0.5mph. This is comparing pump to race tune results
Is that about right in others experiences?

Sorry worded that firs question backwards..
Pump 12.0
Race gas 11.8
Sound about right from 1 tune to the other?

Seems good you might get a bit more with some adaption. Race tune helps but its not a huge difference like people thinkOriginally Posted by Merc63

I figured you would gain at least 30-35 rw with a race map. Did you ever dyno the difference?

Not bad. SCed cars show big gains from race gas and E85 fuel. 40-50 rw.Originally Posted by dodger63

Not that simple... The benefit is a cooler air exchange which translates to more power on a SC engine. Originally Posted by b16

Higher octane means you can run richer and more advance and not have to worry about pre detonation, gaining more ponies.Originally Posted by propain

The higher octane allows you to run more timing without detonation. That or you can run a smaller pulley to generate more boost.Originally Posted by propain
