by the way, would a package with:
limited slip differential lock, delimitation of top speed to 174 and an alcantara leather on the steering wheel indicate that it has the 'performance' package? or all these are just 'options' added to the car?
i'm looking at a CPO 09 from atlanta with 38k miles at $51,900. i'll send them an offer and see (maybe at $47? though i doubt it).

The dealers alway price them way too high to start with then tell you what a sceaming deal they give when they are just slightly overpriced. There is a factory replacement for the base sound system head unit that wil get you nav (but its on a small screen) but I'm sure it's alot less than $2,700. For $2,700 you could get a much better aftermarket system than the MM. Personally I would not reach for this car. I went through the same process a few years ago when I bought mine, the local dealer wanted $56k (well optioned) but would not budge on the price and would not CPO the car (at least they were polite). I hit up the dealers in Sacramento who were in the mists of the great recession and got a CPO car with half the milage (8k) and all the options (exP30) $52,500. I'd get on the MBZ website today and see what's around you (up to 4-8 hour drive) and contact the internet sales manager. Tell them if they want your business, that have to get to a firm price on the on the phone (backed up by an email or fax) to get you to make the trip. This has worked for me many times. If you are financing make sure they also approve your financing before you make the trip. Best of luck.

Yes and the brake calipers should be red. Ask them to send you the build sheet to make sure. $47k should be doable. Since the P30 package did not add any HP it has not added much to the resale value in the used market (unlike the P31 package).

found an 09 with amy performance package.. i got the build sheet:
030: 030 AMG Performance Package: AMG Limited
471: Limited Slip Differential Lock
251: Delimitation of top speed to 174 mph
P30: Performance package
also with carbon fiber trim and multi-media
but NO red calipers? it seems the red calipers were only for 2010 with P31?
