Plasti dip grille without removal
Hey fellas, I'm not much of a handyman so I thought I'd tape the hell outta the grille and go for it, rather than removing it. Was a couple of nicks here and there on spots that I didn't clean as well as I should have.. Looks shweeet to me tho! The DRL's have more of a contrast too.

Didn't really have many options, there was only a few sedans in the area at the time that I wanted to buy. Had everything else I wanted tho - LSD, mb tex (didn't care to pay 3k for the leather) and other nerdy options like the lane tracking package, rear view cam etc)

I would take the xenon lighting package over LSD, lane assist and rear view cam any day. Just my two cents

Thanks Guppy, according to a thread I saw, it looked like quite an install to do it. It was on a 2011 though.. is it easier on a '12?

This thread needs less criticism and more congrats. That first front end picture looks awesome... the 2012 lights look SO mean when you don't have the shiny chrome grill taking your attention away from them. looks good.

Very nice!!!!! Plasti-Dip works wonders! You know, taking off the grille is quite easy. It only takes like 5 mins. Seems like it took you longer to put on the blue tape. Haha!

Haha! Thanks dudes, I was feeling like only I thought it was cool
Yeah definitely took me more than 5 mins to tape it up, probably about an hour for front and rear altogether.. I just worry though that if I take something apart I won't get it to fit back as well as factory.
Here's the rear and the front side-on.. seems I plasti-dipped the front indicators.. Have ordered clear with amber bulbs so this will do in the mean time (or until I get a ticket).
To-do - Window trim and slight rear tint by Don Nguyen and remove the horrid chrome door inserts.. I really want to do headers and zorst but it's a lease.. Considering buying it at the end so I can do what I want, but in 3 yrs it might be nice to get a new 2015 c or e 63..

How did you do the rear emblems? Did you hae to mask off any further? Or did you peel it off from the body after it dried? Wipe off while still wet?
Looks good!

Be careful to plug up the holes, not sure what would happen if it gets on your radiator.. smoke, fire? Also get a painters razor if u need to cut it.
At the moment I still have a thin layer on some paint which I think will come off in the next wash, otherwise I'll just have to manually rub it off. Goo-gone works but not sure if that will affect the paint. DON'T put goo gone on any plastic like lights...

-Grill (its two pieces, the bottom piece which is the main grill and a small strip attached to the hood, both SUPER easy to take off and spray off the car)
-DRL LED Lights (spray on car and don't bother taping the lens, it peels right off)
-Rear emblems
-Side emblems
I then did my buddies G37 as well. I can post pics of everything up here if anyone is interested.
Just some notes....the Plastidip will cut itself off on the emblems etc just by peeling. My suggestion though is leave a good INCH of the cars paint around the emblems and spray that so that you have something to peel off and pull. Also, make sure you let each coat properly dry before applying the next, I found 3-4 coats is best. Keep your hand light on each coat, don't over do it or it might not peel properly.

Just take your grill out. I plastidipped:

-DRL LED Lights (spray on car and don't bother taping the lens, it peels right off)
