Hey Perry,

Mind if I ask where you got those sills? The ones I see online have a square plate in the middle rather than just having the letters lit.

Also, anyone know why the price varies so much between sills? Some charge $700 while this is $63.

Hi jl9j,

I purchased mine directly from Mercedes and yes it cost a lot more. Those sills you listed are not Mercedes parts and if you look closely at them the edges are folded and the plates would end up sitting slightly higher on the door sill. The edges in OEM sills are pressed and flush fit. Also under the the OEM sill plates there are 2 pins that matches the 2 holes that is on the door of the car.

With OEM Mercedes parts, the sills are white for the coupe and blue for the sedan. A lot of people prefer blue but that is a personal thing.

My take is for us Aussie is, when the car cost over 170k here, why would I skim on accessory parts. That is just my view.

Thanks for the reply. I guess 700 is not much to spend if you are already dropping 170k! You Aussies have it tough. I heard cars were more expensive, but I didn't know by how much.

Haha, 170k is only the starting basic price, if you add PP, lane assist, keyless, LSD, adaptive cruise etc it would cost well over 200,000. Black series is about 280,000.

....and there is more, the OEM AMG sills recommended price is $1400.

Wow that is crazy! I should sell my 2010 sedan to someone in Australia for that kinda cash.

Looks nice. It appears wider than the regular one in my coupe.
