Just installed OEM AMG door sills tonight. I was a bit nervous getting it but I think it looks better than on the accessories brochure. I am really thrilled with it. I have already added Carbon Fibre mirrors so the next mod is the CF diffuser

First of all I think the 4 door version is different. These are genuine Mercedes part. The illuminated sills are much larger than the ones that I took out and they certainly look far better.

These look much better than my ones that were on the options list. They light up blue and look more stuck on than this.

But yeah, maybe it's a sedan vs coupe thing

Yes, now I remember, the sedan is blue and the coupe is white. I procrastinated for a long while searching the net for images of the sill. Finally I got the spare parts division of my dealer to contact the warehouse to take a photo of the sill itself. I was surprise they did it for me. Even then I didn't think it would look so good installed.

That said the sedan version most probably were designed when the car was first introduced some 4 years ago, whereas the coupe version was only released last late last year.

yeah, love some sills.....have 'em on both my Mercedes......e550 has blue ones which are savory as hell, and my AMG has the same kind you've shown.....
I'd like to find some kind of light colored film to put over the 'blindingly bright' AMG sills....
maybe a green or a red or somethingjust enough to give it some color

thanx for sharing

Those are illuminated? The white logo looks painted. Wow.

Was it difficult to install? I really want to do a DYI, but I'm not sure OE sills for $700 is worth it.

p.s. Looks great!

Yes, they are illuminated sills. They look painted because of the way I took the photos. I purposely had lighting to the surrounds so that you can see the entire sill and the surrounds and appreciate what the entire sill would look like. I could have turned all lights off, and just showed the illuminated letters like most of the images I have seen.

I had a friend who helped me to install it. Took about 3 hours. The difficult and time consuming bits were taking out the sticky stuff from the old sill with prepsol and removing the fuse box in the bonnet to connect the wire to light up the Sill plates. It was a bit tricky at times.

The OEM sill have 2 little extrusions that fits into 2 predrilled holes and they cost $1400 Aust which is the same value in US dollars. However I got a special deal from my dealer but still more than the US price of $700.

I installed mine last week, and they look great. Tried to take some photos with the iPhone, and it won't work. The LED is so bright that it becomes a white blur.

I'll try to take some pics of mine with a real camera tonight.

Hi Fung63,
This is what it looks like in the dark. I have taken it the way it should look and not over exposing the AMG Lettering, with the lights flaring everywhere. The second shot is a bit over exposed in the lettering. I can over expose it a bit more but you will loose the detail and sharpness in the lettering.

Hi Timothy,

I purchased my CF Mirrors from UK but they are made in Germany and are genuine Mercedes mirror covers. They then cover them with CF and somehow bake them onto the covers. They look awesome too.

Here is the link to my previous post

OP do you have a part number for these sills? Look pretty nice IMO. How much did they cost? Would they fit a 2009 ?

If so this is probably next on my list after the 2012 tail lights..

Hi drawde,

Remember, my car is a C63 Coupe. The retail price is about Aus$1400

Part Number (Remember this is Aust Part Number and might vary in other countries)

Coupe: B6 602 1089
SEDAN: B6 602 1075 (I think sedan emits a blue light instead of White)

Pics of my sill:

As for color, Sedan has blue LED, and Coupe has white LED. I wanted blue for the coupe, not available.

Nice pics. Did it take you long to install yours? As I said before mine took about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

It took about 2 hours. That's dropping off at the dealer, and picking it back up 2 hours later!
