My (MB) rear pins did also. I filled them 1/3 with either Gorilla Glue or Weldbond, let it dry for maybe 15 minutes until the glue was tacky and no longer capable of flowing, then turned the pin over and popped it on...never a problem since.

Great DIY write up and I was going to pull the trigger but...

I'm with my kids in the back seat and I realize the ugly plastic pins are tall enough to grab and pull up to unlock and exit the car in an emergency or accident.

In the front, the handle opens a locked door, but not in the back. Am I missing something?

Those of you with this install... Can you open a locked door from the back without the driver electrically unlocking?

welp...just did this and 3 of the 4 went perfectly fine. unfortunately on the last one (backseat driver side) i think i may have pushed it too far in. i had to superglue the back ones on, but something just went completely wrong and now the little pin is stuck down and the door remains unlocked!

am i royally screwed here? I assume I'm going to have to take it to the dealer and get it fixed. anyone know approximately how much that's gonna run me? or do i have any alternative options by any chance?

If you take the door panel off you should be able to put the lock cable back into place and be good to go. If you are not comfortable doing this relatively easy job then the dealer, or better yet an indie shop, will be able to fix it for you.

just got a set of CF door pins. The fronts are ok, everything went smooth, but when I do the rear, I found I can not push downward and tight it up. Is it relatively the pin's problem? or I should manage to open the door panel and do it from inside?

Put a dab of RTV silicone or glue in the pin before you install it to hold it on tight when it is dry.

Myrison, an excellent write up.

One thing I did when I installed the fronts was used teflon tape on the threads of the lock rod.

By doing this, I am able to rotate the knob exactly the way I want it to look (both for height and to have the AMG read the way I want) without it possibly still being loose.

On the rears, I agree that you have to use some type of adhesive. I used a drop or two of super glue. Worked just fine.

Help please, I just changed the fronts, easy as, but when i got to the rear passenger door, pulled of the old pin and put the new pin on with a spot of glue, locked the door to check was sitting flush and now door will not unlock and pins not moving.
Any clues on how to remove the door trim to get inside and have a look around at what I have done? Also my real problem i think will be removing the trim with the door closed, but if i can get into the other rear door it may give me some clues
PS its a 2012 C63
Thanks

had the same exact problem on my passenger read door. I can't remember what I did exactly but I believe I got some tools out and just pulled it up manually. After that it seemed to have got unstuck and has been working perfectly ever since.
