Reviving an old thread I know, but this is exactly what I'm looking doing now.
I saw this (and it's Stainless/CF alternates) on amazon and wondered if anyone here has ever tried or seen this in person?

The black emblem is looking nice... try it since it's cheap. Let us know how the black paint holds after few washes.

I would if I had one...I prefer no frame or a really thin one if you absolutely need one...everyone can read the amg badge..don't need it plastered all over the car..just my .02

Lol true. I counted all the amg badges on the stock car theres already like 15 AMG lettering of some sort on the car

Yea, I dunno. I kinda like it, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
@CPD SLK & et al, I can completely respect y'alls perspective to go subtle. But the way I see it, AMG is a great brand in a great company, I've got no problems showing it off a little.
It's not like the C63 can be classified as a subtle car anyway right? One turn of the key (or push of the button) sends every cop in a 3 mile radius in a drooling frenzy over the amount of tickets they could possibly write....and that's before headers
I appreciate everyone's feedback though, i'll update again if I ever do buy anything, or find something better.

In case anyone has any interest in this in the future.
I bought frame off Amazon. It's a color change from the one I referenced above. Of course due to a seller SNAFU, I received the wrong one, but for anyone looking for that blacked out effect, attached are a few phone pics of the full black frame.
The frame itself is a flat/matte black steel. It's strong enough, not easily bendable, I would expect the frame to last a good while.
The AMG logo part is made out of plastic and is glossy. The logo itself feels solidly stuck on, but I can slide my fingernail down a good portion of it, so I imagine it might be hard to (keep) clean... But I suppose the flat to glossy would allow for a almost subtle flashy-ness if you're into that. The surprise for me was it's not as grey as the amazon picture led me to believe; I would call this fully dark black.
Since the black/black thing isn't for me, I'm working to get this returned for the chrome/black combo above, but all in all this isn't a bad plate.
