Show me your license plate frame

Hi everyone, I have searched the forum but only found 1 thread in the E63 about pics of license plate frame.

Can you guys show me some AMG license plate frame... CF, black or chrome if you have?

I just have the clear covers right now (see pics below)... but I'm tempted with the CF ones from the dealership.

What you all think? Yay or Nay?

My clear covers:

Do you guys think it will stand out too much on my white car? Or it will match my CF parts well?

BTW, the dealership wants 75$can +tax (x2)= 150$can +tax... so if I decide to buy, I would like to rock them for a while since they r a bit pricey... lol

FYI that is a printed CF frame... Not "REAL" CF

^^ Thx for the infos, I did read "faux CF" on the Benz website.

To make a long story short, my friend who has a Porsche just bought some CF covers & it looks great on his black car... he actually wants to buy the AMG version for my bday gift... but I'm not too sure how it will look on my white car? Of course, I will pay him back cuz I dont want him to spend that much... lol

my wife bananas! :D
Hey Meng,

I think it'll look good! at least it'll be better than the flat black plastic with a dealer name on it although i just noticed you already switched it once?

I've been toying with getting a ///amg one... but rsquad's CF one on ebay looks pretty good. like the low key look.

Hey Tim, thx for ur opinion.. Yeah Rsquad real CF one looks hot.. I would prolly get a black AMG emblem so it doesn't stand out too much. It's a small mod but still a tough decision as I'm very **** about my car look.

Here ya go... Sorry it looks a little washed out.... It was dark in the garage and had to use flash.

It has some flex to it.... but I think it'll need 4 screw holes to be more secure for the front.

My personal opinion is don't get the "AMG" plate.... the AMG bage on the back of our trunk says it all. A nice plain CF frame would be "cleaner"

Not auto or MB related, but mine actually reads something slightly different since it's older...it goes well with my license plate.

Roswell, I'd get the one Rsquad has, it'd match all your carbon goodies very well.

I didn't want to get one, but I couldn't find a CF one that I liked on ebay, though had I found yours, I probably would've went with that instead.

But I didn't want to advertise for the dealership any more with their plastic frame, so I got this black metal AMG frame instead..

It's not an official AMG frame, as the seller had to change the "M" a little bit i guess in a poor attempt to avoid getting sued. It comes with the bolt covers and it's one of the reasons I liked it.

The front i'm just using the OEM clear cover, looks the best imo. And definite stay away from the fake CF oem plate cover. You' instantly regret it. I've see it in person and it's REALLY ugly. You can't even call it a weave on the print. It's just bad all around. if it was real CF i'd buy it from the dealer. But then again, the OEM CF mirror covers are $2000, so they might charge you $600 for a real CF plate cover lol.

Thx Rsquad for the excellent pics... humm, I really like your plate cover but it looks like it will be difficult to install it in the front as it only has 2 holes.

Sheep, I did think about the chrome ones cuz it would match the upper trunk bar... but your AMG front plate is out of question as we need to display our license plate in the front where I live.

CoolBD, I totally support our hockey team... but I'm not ready to use a Sens license plate on my car just yet. LOL

noodleman, I think you just helped me make up my mind... the black looks great on your white car, and love the fact it's thin all around. Let's hope my friend didnt order the CF one yet. BTW, do you know if it will bend a bit to accomodate the front plate?

the frame itself has a bit of bezel to it so bending it might be tricky. and the AMG part of the plate is some plastic gel thing? It felt like it would bend if the frame was bent to fit the front.

Personally having the AMG plate cover in the back is already abit much for me haha, I myself wouldn't put it in the front and just stick with the clear cover. It helps keeping the plate clean anyways from bug splatters anyways.

This one looks good too, but it's a little pricey. It also has the polycarbonate window too.

^^ Dude, if only they had a AMG version of that frame, I would so get it. I still think it's just too plain with CF only because I do have a CF lic. frame in the front. Nothing special to me haha!

Here's my rear, if you look closely, I used 4 black plastic screws because some douchebag jacked my original black screw covers that came with the plate:

Thx guys for sharing your pics... keep them coming! The AMG plate is starting to grow on me... chrome, black or CF is now the question... hehe!

N1ck, that is a nice plate cover... and love the fact it has a clear plastic over it. It does look a bit plain w/o any lettering I agree.

hyperion, I would love to get my hands on the HRE plate covers too... sooo sick!! Where did you get them?

Brooklyn, how hard was it to make the plate cover fits the angle of the front plate holder?
