Congrats, I go back and forth between the E63 and CLS63 for my replacement.
But then sometimes, I think about keeping the C63 and buying a custom hotrod, been thinking about getting a CSX4000 lately
Kinda want a open air hotrod, seeing that my c63 is my current hotrod and I use the four doors a lot less than I thought I would.

FYI msrp prices over here don't include taxes. So you pay $89k + about 8.75% sales tax = $97k. But yeah still lot less than Oz...

Sweet ride tho OP, a guy was driving next to me the other day in one and the tone was awesome, although not as loud, it gave me the impression of top quality engineering. Hope I don't get banned from the forum but I wouldn't be too mad if my next C63 had that motor.. hehe

EDIT: good choice on the non-pano roof option.... I avoided that specific option when I got my car as well. It is an awesome option to have on the non-AMG models, but to add weight in the worst possible area on an AMG model, it wasn't worth it for me.

Not sure of the details, but there is a $999 lease deal on the E63 right now. Add that to a hefty discount on the car and you might be able to do it with no drive off. Guessing it would mean about $10k of so off MSRP.

I think it's 24mo. Didn't look at the details because I have another 11 mos on my E350.

i have to reluctantly agree with you there.

to me there is something fundamentally wrong with the design of a car thats purpose built for performance, but then lacks the "rawness" and responsiveness of an older generation, lower end model that costs almost half the price.

after spending over $100.00, the last thing anyone should feel the need to do is to spend another 2 -3 thousand just for better peformance.

Sweet ride Eric! I was thoroughly amazed how fast that CLS63 was at the runway event. What is the weight diff of the CLS63/E63? Is the performance package a nonfactor in regards to HP if you are going to tune it anyways? Just read the super sedan shootout between the M5/S6/E63...the E63 was faster trap in the qtr WITHOUT the PP! I got a new Gtech fanatic..lets get some baseline tests in your car so I can also compare the Vbox/Gtech in a side by side comparison!

Aus has higher wages but MUCH higher taxes so not sure what you mean by that. The reasons it's 3x the cost is because of a 50% luxury car tax (so a 100k car instantly becomes $150k) hedging against an unpredictable Aussie dollar and cos luxury car companies over there would rather sell less cars at a higher price than more at a lower :P (last point more subjective that objective hehe)

Well.. the adult minimum wage in some states is as low as $5.15 per hr. Avg across the US is about $7.. It's at least double that in Aus. When I was a teenager @ Myer I earned about $15 an hr and that was over 10 yrs ago.
